At the rate the games in the Championship is played, they'll be finished before I can get my pre-season review in.
Anyway, here it is:
Pre-season predictions – the Championship.
The OBBA Championship season 14 version is not for the faint-hearted – no less than 3 necromantic and 2 orcs teams, matched with undead, nurgle and chaos makes up touch environment for the remaining human and vampire teams.
Looking at the teams, we first have Brizzle City fresh down from the Premiership. The relegation might hurt the orc pride a bit, but still a solid orc team with a winning record looking like a strong contender for promotion.
Glassjaw Strangers is an OBBA veteran team, boasting the highest TW of the division. A solid nurgle team build to take on most challenges, perhaps clawpomb’er excepted, they look like a strong contender for promotion, having a full bench and money for replacements.
This is more than you can say for West Ham Unitedead who is struggling to fill the ranks and having to pull up players from the amateur ranks to field the required 11 players per game. A few injuries early in the season are going to hurt.
Burningham City is another team remaining in the championship from last season. Despite being a chaos team with a few hard-hitters, they look a bit vulnerable with two rookie chaos warriors, and a negative cas statistic in last season doesn’t lie.
Newlydeadcastle United have jumped 2 weight classes from are fresh up from League Two, and is the only team with natural ag4 players. Having a solid squad and backed by their filthy rich middle east owners (320.000k in the bank) they might have the reserves to wind the hits they surely will take over the season.
Charlton Unathletic is a solid-looking undead team that looks fit and well prepared for the season.
Humanity is represented by FC Kaiserslaughtering and judging by their success in the league so far, these german’s do not stop before they have pushed Real Sociedead off their throne..
living-orcs-ton fc reborn is another success-story. These orcs have come from nowhere to the championship in just one season plus a cup! Watch out for these orcs, though it might be hard for them to build strength and skills in this league.
Nuts n' Bolts is a fairly new necro team still building the team. Still, regeneration will make up for a lot of hits and with solid financial backing, they might do well.
ItsLich Town rounds up the necro teams. This one is somewhat different though. With a ag4 ghoul and an ag5! wolf this team have the all the tools to pull out some spectacular plays. |
