Bradford Slitty 1 - 1 Grimsby Town
A remarkable game which after some early stirling defensive work by Slitty making Grimsby sweat for their opening TD in the first half, disaster struck.
Bradford were seeking the equaliser after a good move when Des Hamilton raced with the ball for the TD line...just as he was about to cross he stumbled, fell and DIED!. Apoth fail. Ball bounced kindly for Grimsby to recover. They block the nearest Bradford player, blitzer David Weatherall, and down he goes DEAD!
Two players dead in virtually approximately three actions...Bradford were on the backfoot all of a sudden. With about 6 or 7 players on the field they looked down and out...morale was crumbling fast. Grimsby played keepies on their own TD line, and they were running the clock down.
The huge crowd (well pythrr is rather fat these days isn't he!) stated to leave the stadium thinking the game was up....BUT they missed the grande finale.
Grimsby had a collective rush of greed and wanted a second...they started to spread out and the ball carrier rushed forward to hand off the ball. It failed, Bradford saw a slim chance (well slimmer than pythrr anyway) and raced forth, blitzed one of the two TZ's out of the way picked the ball up and scored!!
A famous draw...but with a heavy price attached. The relegation battle starts here! |

Interesting. i did not know that. When Des Hamilton was at Bradford he was a real crowd favourite. Quick and industrious and always a threat on the flanks. Sadly he got offered lots of cash at newcastle and left but it was a big step up and he did not get much game time. He should have stayed at Bradford and been a first team regular. |

/me starts inspecting the cacti for the largest and most prickle-infested specimen for use on Tuesday morning....
Russo as master of the elite level of roaches....err coaches.... and teams in this season's OBBA is almost wetting himself with anticipation of Tuesday mornings pleasure-fest awaiting him.
He can almsot envisage the later flood of roaches having to queue up for Nurse Gritter's gentle ministrations which will involve gentle and relaxing Testicle De-prickling and Neat Alcohol Splashing.
Currently there are four caoches in League One and 6 in the Premier League awaiting these double pleasure fests on Tuesday morning.
/me prays that boba does not show on Sunday so it will be 6 in the Premier League and the admin team can show their is no crony-ism in the hallowed halls of the OBBA

(I know about the three Prem games currently, I hope the League One coaches have spoken to their useless admin too!) |

Congratulations to bobafettsmum for a good Rd1 win against Sera...it was worth having to forgo the pleasure of dishing out that particular cacti-treatment just to see the third best OBBA team ever get beat! |

Well, Round One (aside from one game, TBP tonight....) is done and dusted.
Conference North saw 4 wins, 4 losses, with the CDs, the twin Slanns, and the Lizards leading the way.
League 2 has seen the Elfs of Wycombe and Leicester start strong, with the Wanderers stealing a lead by playing their second game for 2 wins!
League 1 has also seen wins aplenty, with Gritter's 5-1 win being the biggest of the round!
The Championship coaches have been champing at the bit, with a full 10 matches played already, with Shade's Necros storming to an early lead.
The Prem has seen its first upset, with last year Champions falling 2-1 to Ratchester, while Arden Villa looked imperious in their demolition of Vampy's Foulbion....
Round 2 deadline is the 10th May!

Borussia Rottingbadback reclaim top spot after a goalless draw against Real Sociedad.
The only real talking point is the player transfer that took place during the game, with Fritz Pliska going to Real Sociedad in exchange for Horris Stretchsky. An unskilled rotter for a wrestling ghoul. |
