I once tried to get a better understanding of Elfball by attempting to call a bit of an amnesty. Back in those days; there was a fair amount of all Elfball teams in Ranked, trying to farm spps for Major tournaments (tipping my hat to my most recent blog, no harm to any of them, just saying). Even the ever superb Fischerking had a say, that was pretty sweet.
I still don't feel like I fully understand. I still feel that (coaches, ball winners and teams equal), snakes are the biggest deal in such encounters.
There was some interesting chat there, and since then, I've done progressively better (in one of two Majors I ever tried in properly, I won a Woodie qualifier, for instance), but by no means do I think I'm an Elfball super genius.
It's an interesting dichotomy, Elfball. On the one hand, the coaches therein need to 'grow a pair'. On the other, it's not easy, by any stretch of the imagination.
Just saying. I'm all leagued up, myself. Not enough time. If I had infinite time like I used to, I'd be all L, all the way, baby.
All the best; the more leagues on site, the better. |

Yea, I'm sure it's a case of "I don't even know how much there is I don't know." (about elf-balling)
So it wouldn't be a traditional League, as I think of them. No deadlines. No pressure to get games in. Just one off elf games for bragging rights and experience with them outside of nasty Box games and the Ranked enviroment some might not be comfortable learning in. I'll promote it shamelessly for memebrs and see if I can get it to take off eventually.
I'm off to read that thread.
(And get my Box humans pummeled some more) |

Stab, Stab, stabbity, stab.
Sounds like a league for Dark Elves!
I cannot participate, sorry. |

Wuuuuuuuuuuuuut?
Why not? You some kind of elf hater? It's a "do it when ever you feel like" kind of league. What better way than to smash some elf faces in? |

I prefer stabbing, but the whenever I want thing does sound interesting....
Mostly I play to get players on top lists. Tough in League! |

4 Maybees.. Just a few more votes to be in a casual League where you play, what.. twice a month? Or TWENTY times?
Here's the award for winning the League, the Solstice Shield. (Small Size) Your coach initials will go on one of the plaques for eternity. Hurry and join, the Shield will have no more room for names in just 5 years!

Now that my bi-monthly commitment to humans is out of the way..
Here it is. I told you it would be the purttiest trophy on FUMBBL.
After the league winner is declared on each solstice, the top 5 finishers, and three other league coaches (voted by league members) will enter an 8 man KO tournament to declare the elvish champion and win the ~Purple Cup~.
In the tournament the coaches will use any of their 4 elf teams, and the finals will be best of three.
And because the next season starts with new teams, there will be no real time pressure on the KO tourney to complete. All relaxed and elf like. They're immortal anyway. No hurries.
And after a season, enter your elf deamons into the OLC. (You're welcome)
BEHOLD!!!
~ Your name could be on that plaque ~
I'll create the league tonight. |

Hey.. I do want to start the PDolls league but I'm just not sure of about a few things after reading the help section. Here's the begining of a FAQ I might offer to the help page when I find a few things out. Some questions for anyone with a few secs:
A) I see you join a League (group) with one team. Can you join with more than one?
B) Nothing whatsoever 'programming wise' stops ANY [L] league team from playing any other [L] team, right? It would be just in the 'league rules' where the admin says you only play other teams in your own group (or league), right?
C) So if I wanted each coach to have for teams, they would just be part of the League by name and in principle, but only one would actually apply to the group, right?
D) Once I create the group, will I see options for getting new FUMBBL web pages for writing rules, history, etc. etc?
Thanks in advnace.. and standby for more questions.
(any harm in creating it now? Can I undo any mistakes later?) |

The elf league has begun, and will kick of with a tournamnet. Create an elf team (or four) and apply now. |
