If you want to win, go with Elves.
If you want to cause mayhem, go with Nurgles.
If you want to win whilst causing some mayhem, try Rats.
If you want to be different, try Slann.
What kind of interesting are you looking for? |

Norse. Against all them clawpombers you're gonna need to pack some muscle yourself. And with ma(i)nly AV7, you can just laugh at your opponent's claws that up their TV giving you a sort of an easier match. And when your players perform well on the bash and kick a chaos team into oblivion, it's satisfying as hell. Plus they have no torso awareness and wear no shirts
(Fun fact: I still usually get my own bottocks kicked with norse in the box, and beyond TV 1500 I think norse die faster than you can replace them ) |

Skaven are also one of my favourites in the box and they have huge potential in winning games too. In my experience, though, skaven in the box need to get a bit lucky with their skill rolls early on. If your blitzers/RO don't get claw or your gutter runners don't roll doubles/AG you'll be in trouble as basic skaven are not that extraordinary and get off the field easily. But, if you get the few lucky skills needed there's not much that can stop you while your key players are on field.
An other thing I love about skaven is the fact that you can coach them in basically two different ways. One is the bashing way, which I seriously have no idea to do . Some coaches manage to get a positive cas record and even a very good cas record on their skaven teams, and I think this is where the clawpomb kicks in: you need claw on your blitzers and the rat ogre if you're into big guys.
The other way, which I do, is pretty much ignore the bashing game, and go all out on the ball. If you get a gutter with big hand and leap or AG5 + another with strip ball and wrestle, your opponent has to put enormous amounts of effort into keeping the ballcarrier safe. And with this playstyle, even though it might seem a bit reckless, dodging into cages with 5+ works often enough and with skaven it really pays off. You only have to get lucky once
Well, this got a bit off track into skaven strategy, but I hope it explains some of my love for em and gives pointers of how to play skaven in the box and , moreover, why to play rats in the box. With rats, the game ain't over if you got even one gutter runner left on the field. |

skaven are stupidly good in the box, mainly because everyone builds teams in such a backwards way there and forgoes skills like sure hands. Also even if you try your hardest not to min max with skaven you still end up doing it because all your players die a lot except your important ones. |

Really?! I'm sure it's a great experience for rookie coaches, rookie teams and weakened teams. |
