And Brian.... don't retire Brian... I need him on the field next time we meet. I'm going to put 150k in to induce a wizard and lightning bolt his malformed bottom.
Oh... yeah, on-topic: Pass Block! That or Sidestep or Pro (but Pro doesn't fit with the theme since they're a bunch of amateurs!).

Leap because a leap on 3+ with Block Tackle and St5 means you can crush almost any ball carrier from almost any defensive position.

I recently played against a vampire team with 6 pro. It is GOOD. If I ever build up vamps again, I will spam pro as 3rd/4th skill like there is no tomorrow. (Would be nice as legend on McBitey too with jumpup, but he will get piling on, I guess)
Stand firm is a rubbish pick, but if not pro, I'd also consider frenzy. ST5 AG4 makes for a hell of a surfer (especially when you can gaze off people who would normally block your line of approach). |

It's funny how vamps have great stats and great skill access, yet STILL do very well with stat rolls. This post got me thinking about an 'ideal' vamp team.
Scorer: MA MA blodge sure hands pro
Basher: block mb po tackle jumpup pro
Surfer:blodge frenzy jugger sidestep pro
LoS/Sacker: ST wrestle dodge tackle guard pro
LoS/Support: ST blodge guard sidestep pro
LoS/Gazer: ST AG blodge guard pro
And then of course 14-16 players total inc a thrall with kick and one or two with dp. |

I didn't forget though; I just had some tradeoffs to make. Vamps don't really need a leaping cage breaker imo. Gaze + ST5 wrackle would do the job. (I'm not a big fan of strip ball at high TV)
If I would go for 3x wrestle, fend thralls and no LoS-vamps, I would certainly include a cagebusting vamp (though he'd ideally be ST AG wrackle leap pro). However, with 3 ST5 guard LoS vamps, as well as a dedicated basher, surfer and baller, you need the LoS guys to be multitools. |

I guess, but it's not obvious due to the house rules:
"When re-rolling AV or Injury with Piling On modifiers like Claw and Mighty Blow cannot be used."
