How LOL is used in the chat section bothers me a lot.
The only way I have seen it used, is like this:
Look at my dice rolls I'm so unlucky, please confirm this,(or I will get angry)!!
That got me thinking, when does people think they are having such a unlucky game, they need to cry it out?(yes I know its a broad qustion)
My argument is that each turn, you have to look at it like conditional probability theory.
So do you make 4 dice blocks without block each turn, your chance of failure is (8/9)*(8/9)*(8/9)*(8/9)= ca 37,5%.
Especially elfs teams seem to have hard times understanding, that 3 dogdes each turn, have to go wrong sometimes.
As a team-builder person, I considder a game succesful, if I dont get any lasting injuries.
and missing a couple of 8/9 rolls is absolutly not unlucky
not even 1 or 2 snake eye per game. |

It's a social game, you can't roll your eyes through a keyboard so some people vent by typing it out. As long as they aren't rude to you, who cares.

I sometimes get salty if I percieve the luck being very tilted (against me), specially because I get to play few games and it sucks when you don't even get a chance because Nuffle won't let you. |

I never thought of amused comments at "bad dice" as being passive-aggressive. I will generally laugh (lols, hehehes or more often oopses) at my own foolishness/bad luck/misguided optimism (delete as applicable) and am happy for opponent to do likewise or not as suits them. That said, the main purpose I play is for entertainment (both mine and, hopefully, my opponents'). My in-game comments regarding my own mistakes (see also "bad dice") are meant to add to the entertainment, laughing at me, the rubbish pixelpusher, not fishing for sympathy. Personally, if I was worried about or likely to get angry at bad luck in a dice game, I'd take up Sudoku or knitting. |

If you can't complain what's the point of playing this game? I'm always unlucky. Unlucky to not win by 4 more Touch Downs, Unlucky I didn't get block on that Ogre in the post match, unlucky the the MVP went to a journey man with a completion who I must now buy. Unlucky to fail the pick up, unlucky with the scatter. Unlucky that I chose to blitz with my Rat Ogre on the ONE turn he goes wild.
Basically I'm unlucky all the time. When I say LOL I'm probably laughing out loud at home thinking I had this coming for a good few matches.
- anyway you can always try me for a game to see how I am the unluckiest coach in the world - I'll promise not to LOL too much at my poor dice
