Bowl Round Determined
With only one game to go of the regular season the CBBA Bowl Round matchups have been determined. For the Red Ribbon Bowl the Griffins will take on the Wolfpack. In the big one, the CBBA Bowl, the Yhetees will look to take down the Stallions. Both games appear to be highly entertaining matchups. Who will take the glory this season?

Pride Restored in Averheim
The Averheim Stallions will look to secure their 4th CBBA Bowl after putting together a brilliant campaign lead by coach Luohghcra. The Stallions were coming off their first season below .500 under coach Poods who struggled with player management and unfortunate injuries. Not only have the Stallions gone back to their winning ways, they have been the best team of the season.

Yhetees Look To Wrestle Their Way Into History
The Yhetees have struggled to win any favour in the larger Imperial market of the CBBA. Their team doesn't speak the language and even their coach is difficult to understand. They play a different style of blood bowl often criticised for being soft and boring. While all this may be true, the effectiveness of their tactics cannot be questioned. It has earned them a trip to the CBBA Bowl and put the team in the spotlight. Can they put Kislev in the record books by taking out the title or will the great wrestling team of season 4 be forgotten as time passes?

Wolfpack Struggle For Inclusion
Historically the Wolfpack have come across as desperate to prove themselves. Fans of the team believe that they should be counted amongst the big 4. Middenheim is after all a prominent city with a wealth of resouces, only it is divided among both the Wolfpack and Harlequins. Now the Wolfpack have the opportunity to show that they can be a big time player in the CBBA when they take on the might of the Griffins in the Red Ribbon Bowl. It is a huge game for their fans and the University itself as it looks to establish itself more prominently in the eyes of the people of the Empire. Coach Jevouse has been brilliantly leading the team to the Bowl Round with a scrappy defense first philosophy. Can this disrupt the Griffins professional approach?

How They Got There: Analysing The CBBA Bowl

Today we take a look at the numbers that make up the teams heading into the CBBA Bowl.
The Erengrad Yhetees had the best record of the regular season at 5/1/0. The Yhetees lead the league in blocks (229) and were in the top 5 rushing teams (204). Despite this, the Yhetees only managed a positive casualty differential of 1. The Yhetees has the best defense, only conceding 3 touchdowns in 6 games leading to the equal best Touchdown Differential across the league. These numbers clearly display the passive wrestling style and it's lack of ability to cause damage but its significant strengths in terms of stifling offense. The Yhetees utilise a rushing attack and rarely pass the ball, preferring to cage it up and scramble it in through Kovalenko.
The Averheim University Stallions had the second best record of the league with a 5/0/1 result, but critics argue this was a result of a favorable draw. The Stallions had the second best defense in the league, only conceding 4 touchdowns - showing that defense leads to Bowl games. WIth equal touchdowns to the Yhetees (10) the Stallions had the equal second best differential in the league (+6). The Stallions were 4th in Blocks (209) and third in casualty differential (+5). Meanwhile they were third in completions (10) but didn't amass much passing yardage. The numbers show that the Stallions employ a mixed offense, equally likely to pass and run with the ball being spread between the players. The punching and coverage power of their Blitzers is their greatest weapon with speed to defend and the ability to remove opposition players. They will miss Stiegler for the big game which appears to be a big blow. |

Erengrad University public statement on heroic victory over Peninsular Buccs.
Erengrad CBBA Yhetees defeat weak imperial teams, and stupid Bulls, now victory over both great rivals at first Bears and second Buccs is leading to greatest celebration in Erengrad since winter of 2508 when so few people died was like spring. Also much fires and burning things, drunken madness, and small fueds between families of team members grow to great rifts in society. Is good for team, much rage.
Season opening greats Vladislav and Maksym again gave shame to families, but Svitlana made up with great new leadership of team, scoring, securing victory. Has been many comments now on growing fame of wrestle bowl squad, what is how working it does, is asked. But is simplicity: get ball, take forward. Things go for good or for bad, but repeat: get ball, take forward. Sometimes is catastrophy and grief, but solution: get ball, take forward. Wrestle bowl team learn this, apply to game, win much respect. Not secret, but is good for spirit to show, other teams fail this.
Erengrad CBBA Yhetees are best in whole CBBA, win all games in best division, North Wind grow strong spirit, have good tour also while players learn game, and now play for Championship Trophy with growing power and skill in team. Opponents are horseys, or such words, is confusing. But are from weak division, and have such weak tour is much laughing. Is no pride for victory here, only impossible shame from unlikely defeat; but must play, is rules. Ignatyev, Ruchkin, Belyakov, Knyazev, Yermalayev, Koval, Kovalenko: is not just maybe celebrated families in Erengrad and great Kislev, but names spoken across empire. Wrestlers, bowlers, combined, is now only wrestle bowl. Everyone will copy. Get ball, take forward. End of statement. |

I am so very humbled to be chosen as the new Vice Chancellor of TRU. It was a fierce contest, but in the end all my rivals saw that I was the only real option and threw their support behind me. So how did a fisherman's son from the Isle of Sartosa gain support of the more experienced and illustrious contenders? One word, Family. Prof Conti (whose daughter mysteriously disappeared for 2 weeks), Dean Giordano (who was discovered in a compromising position with a goat) and Dean Gallo (who accidentally poked out one of his own eyes with a letter opener) - they all support me as they see I can lead the Family.
What is Family? TRU is Family, despite our differences we can unite where it is important. As head of the Family, I will consider all the ideas of my brothers of the University. Prof Alioto (who tragically lost all the fingers of his left hand in a kitchen accident), was roundly mocked for suggesting we open our doors to female students. I like this revolutionary idea, and next year will see an influx of the fairer sex.
Tilea is Family. Our nation has the brightest minds in the Old World. We will nurture its scientists, its artists, even its lawyers. The University exists for this, but in the first week in the job do I get asked about academic success? No, all the press seem to care about is Blood Bowl.
The Southerners are Family. We fight with our neighbours, but they are OUR neighbours. I am sickened that the Pigs of Altdorf lock out the mighty Eagles, winners of the Amphora, from finals competition. We have superstar players in the South. Individually I expect Southerners will clean up the CBBA Player Trophies. But these trophies show the small minds of the Pigs. Yes, they recognise Touchdowns and Casualties. But where is the acknowledgement of the subtle skills of the dance? My predecessor Dr Leopoldo Andaloro left a legacy by commissioning the beautiful Amphora. I have followed in his footsteps by asking the Trantio Design Department to work with the cobblers of Sartosa to produce this 'unofficial' award...
The Sartosi Slipper. Which I am so very proud to be able to present to one of own Benito Triscari. We all love little Benni.
Finally, I must talk about the Diavoli. They more than anything represent the Tilea Family. Everybody seems to want me to replace the Head Coach. To this, I answer with a Sartosi proverb:
You catch a small fish
If you gut it, it shall die
If you throw it back, it shall grow
or feed another fish
Next time, you catch a bigger fish.

Erengrad University public statement on Erengrad CBBA Yhetees great victory.
Erengrad CBBA Yhetees is huge. Is official. Recognised in whole empire, also beyond. Wrestle bowl innovation is genius. Once more, team get ball, take forward, and win bowl game. Is simplicity for great team, but confusion for opponents, whatever name is being.
Svitlana leads defence, takes ball, Vladyslav is having fumbles once more, but is recovering and patiently awaiting time for score. Whole rest of team is destroying weak opponents, Olga is great destroyer. So great is team, like real Yhetees, such is power and rage of wrestle-bowl squad, is almost no players left on other team. Much cheering is done.
Until half break when all are given suspicious long time for recovery. Is imperials, you know will do much for cheating. Ball is then so slippery, Vladyslav drop three times. This again we are saying. Promises made, not kept. But slippery ball is clean after time, so Yhetees get ball, Yhetees take forward. Other team, confused, get ball, take backward: is wrong way. Then game is over and Yhetees take title with easy victory for such great team.
Is home game, other team is escorted from city but no one is caring. All is Yhetees for Erengrad University, for Erengrad City, for Great nation of Kislev, for proud and strong North Winds division, even stupid Bulls, and for where whole CBBA competition is played and more. Is all for great Yhetees. Everyone will copy. Fifth season. All is wrestle bowl now, but Yhetees will crush like children. End of statement. |

CBBA AWARDS NIGHT SEASON 4
The Awards Ceremony is the biggest night of the year for everyone involved in the CBBA. The Ceremony starts with the announcement of the All Star Team. Then the CBBA Player Awards are given out to the individuals who have earned them throughout the season. Finally, the event culminates in the crowning of the Bowl Champions.
It gives the opportunity for the players to celebrate after a hard season. More importantly, it gives the fans of the teams a chance to compare their stars with the legends of the past and hope that their favourites get the acknowledgement they feel they deserve.
The CBBA ALL STAR TEAM SEASON 4
Linemen
Auounn Jonsson – Urslo Bears & OlgaBelyakov – Erengrad Yhetees
The Bears are famous for relying on their linemen to provide the scoring, Jonsson did that and more with not only three touchdowns but also 4 casualties including three games with one of each. Jonsson is the ultimate utility player, something much sort after at the lineman position. Belyakov might not have generated the impressive statistics, but his contributions cannot be underestimated to the Yhetees Bowl win. Showing tremendous strength, Belyakov often occupied two opposition players and is an expert at wrestling anyone to the ground.
Blitzer
Zaan “The Redtide†Visverkoper – FCU Clippers
Every team needs a dedicated hitter and this season there was no better than The Redtide. Zaan managed to accumulate 6 casualties in 6 games and is especially adept at taking out the opposition’s offensive weapons.
Thrower
Eydolyn Elmhollow - ALU Great Eagles
The Eagles knack for producing great throwers continues. There was no one better at airing it out this season than Elmhollow and he is definetly the guy you want at the back getting the ball for this team.
Catcher
Carlito Gomez – NBC
Carlito was the best player in the CBBA this season, a shining light despite his teams lacklustre start. With 4 touchdowns and the ability to hit the opponent, Carlito is a potent weapon on both sides of the ball.
Wildcards
Filipo Orsini – Tilea Diavoli & Thorgad Laut – Wolfenburg University Bulls
Filipo stood out as the star in an otherwise poor team this season, capturing the attention of the professional leagues. If he had a decent supporting cast, Filipo’s natural abilities would be shining even brighter. Filipo provides another receiver with the flexibility to lay a hit or two on when needed.
Ogres are renowned for being unreliable. This is not the case with Thorgad, who lead almost lead his team to the bowl. Thograd provides some starch to the team, with the equal most casualties over the season and the ability to provide support for his team mates with his guarding ability. He also topped the league in turns, showing his toughness and was second in blocks, highlighting his willingness to knuckle down.

The Mootland Post-Season dinner may be one of the most prestigious events for the University; celebrating the ups and downs of the CBBA season for the cockerels. This year, the university hosted the largest post-season feast in years as the MFC managed to pull through with a win against the Stirland Province Axemen. The team couldn't have done it without the brilliant aid from coach Mushoomy, who never gave up on the halfling side. The feast consisted of an eighteen-course meal, having an appetizer, main and desert themed for each match played this season. The people of Mootland were very satisfied with the meal. However, guests from neighboring towns could barely finish 1 dish! Didn't matter. Just meant more for us. After the feast, assistant coach Scott "Oni" Stallion hosted the awards ceremony for the team. Here is a recap:
Oni: "Alright quiet down you lot! It's time for the annual season awards for the club. First of all, I'd like to welcome our new reporter "Eyes" to the club. It's a pleasure to have you watching us.
First up for the awards is the Giant Slayer award. Established by previous MFC coach Karnov, this award goes to the halfling who caused the most casualties this season whether it's by boot or fist. The player who won this award broke the previous record for the club of 1 casualty. The Giant Slayer award goes to... Peter "Pepper" Polenski with a total of 3 casualties issued. Great job!
The next award on our list is the Silver Sparrow award. This award was also established by former coach Karnov for the player with the most touchdowns. This year, we broke the previous record of 2. The award goes to... Louis "Speedy" Dashton and Odin "Lightning" Dashton, both scoring 3 touchdowns. It is only fitting for the twins to both get the same award. Well done to them both.
Up next is a newly established award for the club being the Steve "Stompy" McGee award. The award was donated by the McGee family after his sad passing. Steve was a favourite of the club, loved by all. The SSM award goes to the player who may not have done much but was a star in everyone's eyes. This year, the award goes to Wanda "Killer" Queen for bringing great luck to the club for the game against the Stirland Province Axemen. The game, being her debut, was the first win for the club and we thank Wanda for bringing her luck onto the pitch, even though you only spent one turn on the field.
The last award for tonight is the prestigious Little Big Man award. Established by former coach Karnov. This award goes to the most valuable player of the team. Whether they are a hard hitter, an agile scorer or a great stomper, this player will have proved to be the best in the team. This year, the award goes to a player who was a great scorer and the player who held the ball during the clubs draw against the Northern Border Confederates, and scored the winning touchdown against the Stirland Province Axemen. The Little Big Man award this season goes to...Odin "Lightning" Dashton!!! A very well played season by this spectacular player. Well done.
And well done to all the players this season. This has been the best season so far for the university with a record of 1/1/4. We may not be the best team in the league, but we are certainly a great team. May we all live a little longer." |

Erengrad University public statement on Erengrad CBBA Yhetees pre-season.
Training very good is team. Invited young prospective bowl students from wide range of Imperial lands, many fees gained for University out of limited offerings of positions. Then is having Olga demonstrate weakness of new students by crushing them like Yhetee crushes all in path. Is also way of opening positions for more fees for university, is generous with so many wishing to join.
Maksym and Dimytri teach how to be hit, by hitting. Valadamir and Evgeny teach how dodge is not always solution, by tackling. Vladyslav and Svitlana demonstrate running game by running over fallen students. Is good for Yhetees, good for Erengrad University, and still are many applications.
Igor is carrying drinks, and Lyudmyla is doing papers. Families want all players discussed, even less useful ones. Perhaps new recruits have wrestler to be taken into team, replace Lyudmyla? Yes? Maybe increase fees for applicants? Is good! Yes. Placement possible, for wishing to join famous Erengrad CBBA Yhetees. Modest fees apply. So good for University. End of statement. |

Throughout their first CBBA season, despite the relentless and justifiable attacks from all corners, there is one thing that seemed constant within the Diavoli ranks. Unity.
However, this all may have changed with reports of an unceremonious dumping of two of their players. I arranged a meeting with Head Coach Remo Chiappa to allow him an opportunity to dispel these rumours. Instead I found myself meeting again with Assistant Coach Mila Fiore Pisciotta:
Mila: Paper Boy! What do you want? Here to insult me and my family again?
Peppe: No, not at all. I wish to find out about the rumours of the dismissal of two Diavoli players.
Mila: Ahha, yes. Lars and Enzo. We let them go.
Peppe: But why? Were they injured?
Mila: Not so much. Lars he lost a tooth, and he gave Enzo a black eye.
Peppe: So you sacked them for fighting?
Mila: Fighting? Don't be stupid. Boys they fight. You see, they have the hormones that make the blood run hot. You might know this if you were a real man Paper Boy.
Peppe: So why were they let go then?
Mila: See, it's not the fighting. But the reason for the fisticuffs. Girls, money, bad aroma - these are all good reasons for fighting no? But these boys they fight over stupid thing.
Peppe: Which was?
Mila: Enzo he call Lars a Miragliano whore bastard. Lars he say Enzo a bastard son of a Southland spice trader. It's all so stupid see. Everyone are bastards.
Peppe: Everyone?
Mila: Well not my boys of course. Don Sandro Pisciotta, may he rest in peace, he was a good man. Yes, he travel the seas for many months, and yes a woman gets lonely. Lots of young handsome men in Sartosa, the eye roams....
Peppe: ....
Mila: Bastards! Yes, all of the Diavoli are bastards! Their fathers are Remas, Luccini, Verezzo and more. But they have only one mother. Mother Tilea! The Diavoli are brothers, family! Fighting over bastards? Stupid see! Lars and Enzo are gone.
Peppe: And replacements?
Mila: Remo is scouting the campus teams. We will have new players for the team shortly. Now run along Paper Boy. |

Indeed the ONLY question on the lips of all RIGHT THINKING Marienburgers is WHERE was suspiciously silent Coach D_Arquebus in all this... and WHERE was our championship quality team that HE was supposed to lead to everlasting glory?!?!?!

Coach D_Arquebus' mismanagement of the team and shocking performance in the final round; which saw two of our promising young stars of tomorrow leave this mortal coil whilst that ragamuffin of an "apothecary" raised not a finger, has killed not just these golden lads of Marienburg but also the Team Morale. Sources close to the team have informed me that several second year students have left the program in fear for their lives. With the clear lack of ability demonstrated so far by the "Coach" one fears for the competence of those he can scrounge to replace them...
