It's pretty obvious that Gnomes are a team that needs to be developed. For the life of me I can't really see at what point that is though nor do I see a clear path to their development. I've played 5 or 6 games with them so any help would be appreciated.
What I plan on doing in the future is spamming mighty blow and tackle and hoping to win by attrition. I'll give that a go and see where I get.
What are your plans with Gnomes? |

If they play like flings without dodge then I'm playing them completely wrong. Guess I need to buy that second Cannon. |

Starting with block on two characters is nice, not having access to block on all but 2 of your guys not so nice. |

The roster starts with block (daredevils), the gnome positional doesn't.
Baelnic, the only way to build them is to try and score (or pass) with your mad bombers. This goes counter to the team's intentions: deliberately not using your positionals for their original purpose. |

Also, guard on linos means they should be able to move to give assistance to team mates. but they can't dodge, so a good skill results very hard to use, and rerolls are burned. And when they are on ground and get up they only can move 1 square, so they are always forced to go for it, and this means other rerolls. And bombs throws not always succed, so... other rerolls. How many rerolls they need? Think about it. |

Squig Slayers start with block, daredevils start with dodge (let's make sure we don't confuse people).
I might be undervaluing HMP and Accurate on the bombers so I guess I'll have to think about that. I'm still wrapping my mind around multiple bombers anyway. Thanks for the food for though. |

I should rename the thread from Gnomemobile to Waahmbulance.
I think I said this elsewhere, but I'll repeat it. Removing Dodge on the Gnome linemen to try and balance for S access instead of A access was the single most deliberated and difficult decisions to make. The small group of us reviewing it went back and forth for a long time and I knew that there was a good chance of under-powering or overpowering the linemen. In the end I made the decision and I am sticking with it for now until more data is collected. I'm not planning on changing anything just yet until a full evaluation can be made, but rest assured, it will be the one topic most closely reviewed.
The Sage makes a good point, the Bommaz need to do some non-bomber things like block and score early on to make them more ideal for their task. Starting them with those skills (Pass, HMP, etc) would be too much. |

And people wonder why; people put in a position of control lose enthusiasm.....
There's little point making any comments on the changes for a few months. I'm certainly not sure how each roster will work out (remembering they all had changes) so I doubt you can predict them either.
Give it 3 months then lynch him. |

I'm must asking how people play their Gnomes. Never played them before don't care if they are underpowered/overpowered now. Let's get back on topic |

You're right Baelnic. i'll tell you my experience. i've played gnomes a lot, but now their tactic has changed. after the revamp you could move along the pitch, positioning the daredevil in a good spot and throw the ball with a hail mary of the cannon. or you could try to advance slowly and do damage. now i've seen many coaches TTM the ball carrier upon the enemy lines, but only after having inflict some cas or Ko. you are slow, they will reach you, so first you must try to clear the pitch of as many opponents you can with bombs and squig slayers. some teams are nasty for gnomes, expecially albion fae and nurglings with lot of Disturbing Presence, so be careful against them. |

Yeah I built my daredevils with Sure Feet so TTM with the ball works (when it works ok) as a strategy for me atm.
I've decided to just build for damage at the moment and see how that goes for a bit. I can fire everyone and start over if it goes poorly I'll report back with how it goes. |
