Hi, my Saurus Blitzer
http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=6602352

Just rolled doubles (and no aging to boot) on his skillup.

So, I am now having a number of choices:

1: Frenzy
He is mobile, his blocks hurt, and with Frenzy hell get an extra attempt at knocking people over.
On the contrary, Frenzy has its drawbacks, and I already have a Frenzy specialist.
2: Standfirm
Coupled with his Break tackle, it makes him a bit more mobile and reduces turnovers.
However, and I hardly want him to fail a Break Tackle while Blitzing in the first place.
3: Dodge
Will also reduce turnovers and make him more difficult to get Blitzed. On the other hand, specialised Blitzers tend to have Tackle anyway
4: Diving Tackle
Seems like a nice choice, cooperating nicely with his tackle skill and making him more annoying even when he is not Blocking/Blitzing
5: Sidestep
great Foul protection, increases his "inconvenience" but thats about it.

Hi,

Maybe you should add a poll.

I think something to increase is mobility would be good, so out of the options you gave I'd go for Dodge. Not everyone will have tackle, and it saves on team rerolls for the dodges. However as you have loads of team rerolls maybe go with sprint to catch people out. Normally I wouldn't put sprint on someone who needs a double to get sure feet, but it's a risky option that may pay off.

1. Frenzy isn't a bad option
2. SF is nice but he doesn't have Guard or Frenzy, so it's not really combining much, though it's a help with BT
3. Probably the choice I'd go with for a mobile blitzer type saurus with BT. Dodge + BT for reliable rr-free dodges to get where you need, and with ST4, many Tackle players will need 2 assists to block him. Things like big guys, BoBs, and mummies tend to take Tackle a bit late in their development, so you'll either get ganged up on or have them need a POW to block you.
4. DT seems like a waste with a swarm of skinks that can take it on normal rolls.
5. SS is a bland choice. It will make him better, but without Guard or Frenzy you're not getting full use out of it.

I like frenzy best, although dodge would be my second choice. Your saurus is all about blitzing; frenzy gives him two blocks to take out that ball carrier.

do not take DT, thats a waste of a skill on your saur.

-SF is very nice with the BT, but he is getting that 1 dodge at a 2+
and well you have 6 team rerolls, use one there if he fails, the SF is really to make sure he doesnt go down on the double 1s, because if you are BT blitzing you are likely to be rerolling it because you need the blitz, but you have probably failed a fairly crucial blitz, or else you woulda just been bashing what was already in front of you. It will make sure that others cant block him away from them even on a lucky -2db if you want to deal out the punishment the next turn.

-Sidestep could make for some interesting combinations, but is a passive skill, and well, an opposing coach will likely just let you stand there anytime the push result would be useful to you.

-Dodge does give you a 2nd chance to not roll a 1 but again a team reroll is likely to still be available, its quite nice for the protection it affords as maysrill said you will tie up several smaller guys with tackle or bigger guys who dont likely have tackle.

-I like the Frenzy option. You are now cutting off the sidelines just that much more from your opponents. With BT you will find you can get to opponents to surf if they try to tie up on or close to a sideline or endzone, and the double push allows you to get your opponents into places you would like easier.

I voted SF in the poll but think Dodge a better option, mainly b/c no guard (yet).

I went for Dodge, reasoning beeing that Tackling MB Blitzer going after my Saurus are not going after my Skinks.

Jump Up is an agility trait so the Saurus wouldn't be able to pick it anyway.

On topic I like dodge because as a blitzing saurus it's a big help as well as the additional protection.
