Urg. TT vs online is an ugly old debate. I don't really think one is a better learning environment than the other.

And, oi, no bringing up events where I got jammed! Wink In all seriousness, events of that size are a crap shoot (but that's beside the point, I guess)....

I thought mentioning the one where you won 6/6 with Slann might detract from my point Very Happy.

That's kinda my point though, yeah. Bloodbowl is Bloodbowl.

This is something of an old topic now, but I think it's an interesting one so I'm gonna wade in.

The two I would vote for are Khemri and Lizardmen. These two teams have very interesting positional games for different reasons:

Khemri
1) They are slow, so you need to make the best of your low MA
2) With little Block and no MB, they will not cause a lot of cas, so you must maximise positioning rather than cas to succeed.
3) You cannot rely on agility to get you out of trouble
4) You have a few specialists (Thro-andBlitz-Ra's) who you must position right to do your most important work.
5) You have some interesting roadblocks (TG's) who you can use to tie up opposition players but who you must also avoid getting tied up themselves.
6) Many of your players break easily and you will often be short-handed or have lots of stunned players to work around.

Lizards:
1) People will hunt your Skinks. You must master getting them involved without exposing them to danger.
2) Your Saurii can hurt the oppo, but are also prone to being tied up. Positioning them and freeing them is a great tactical exercise.
3) The Krox is a great weapon for locking down agility players and tieing up and smashing others, but BH makes him unreliable and robs him of his locking down ability. He's a good positional learning tool on his own.

To my mind dwarves are just too effective and reliable to be a good positional learning tool. Sure they shuffle about slowly, but with near-universal block, tackle and av9, you still have an answer for nearly every situation.

You can't call Dwarves effective and reliable, and then recommend Lizardmen!

Skinks go anywhere on a 3+. With +AG, a 2+. I've spent a long time recently playing Khemri and Chaos trying to get out of all the bad habits that having a player who can get out of any situation on a 3+ 3+ gives you.

Lizardmen greatly benefit from having a good positional player behind them. They can also rescue a poor positional player who gets lucky, which isn't a great way to learn. Dwarves/Khemri, if you make a mistake, you are generally stuffed. Take Dwarves/Lizardmen: if the dwarf player makes one mistake (maybe a block with no rr's before moving, maybe leaving a blitzable gap), the skinks are stalling on his TD line, and there's 2-3 turns of free stall before the dwarf longbeards can even come close to threatening them.

Agree and disagree re your lizard arguments, but I certainly agree Khemri are the better option for the topic at hand.

low tv chaos aren't a bad suggestion either, though. Maybe Nurgle by the same extension. I only just noticed they were in the poll Confused

I put forward, that learning not to take an option, is a skill.

Regardless of the race played.

God lizardmen are super easy to dominate with, I really wouldn't recommend them for this!
