Hi all,

I didn't find anything, so I'm starting a new poll!
Shocked

I've started a Chaos Halfling team. The one Chaos Spawn got Tentacles on first skill. Now, the second Spawn comes up with this skill roll.
I know that there are a lot discussions about adding AV in general and also that many here believe it's not worth the added TV (in most cases).
However, I'm considering it now. Why? Well, they "only" have AV8. And in stunty they get attacked pretty often, by other Big Guys or all the weapons. But still, is it worth it? Or go with another option?

It's a team in the Exploding Cup (Qualifiers). Does this impact the decision?

In stunty league, AV can be just as good a choice as MA. You might want to link your player though for easy access. Otherwise standard big guy skills like guard or break tackle will work well.

Tents.

AV is ok I suppose, but Tents on Spawn are awesome. With WA, they don't lose their TZs either. If you rolled a 10, you should consider MA as well. That extra speed to get to the ball to blitz or tie up a player is great.

Then go MA over AV. Roll doubles and try and build something like this.

Personally, I'd take Tentacles on a normal skill roll, even over the movement or AV in stunty. Tents can completely destroy an opponent's attempts to win the numbers game, especially if you can lock up 2-3 players with each spawn. On top of that, your spawn are already designed as killers, with horns, frenzy, and MB. Play that up. Build killers who control field position.

Considered +MA also, but MA 5 already isn't too bad. If the purpose is to be on the field and use tentacles to hold players, is this extra MA worth it? Does it happen often that you can move freely for 6 squares without running into an opponents player?

Usually I'd say take the MA, then Tents. However, as this is in the EC and you only get 4 rounds to play, take Tents asap. The delay from taking the MA isn't worth it.
