NEW RULE
- A team which has a higher TV may not add money from their treasury to buy inducements. College teams are expensive to upkeep, all of them operate at a lost, often relying on donations and school funding.

This will be posted in the next players pack but is active as of now. The FCU will be able to break this rule if/when they come back into the league.

Maybe on paper, but we all know in our hearts that the Phoenix will be taking it's rightful place at the top again this season.

Round 1 Wrap Up
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

Season 3 is underway! We’re now officially a week in and Debby Demonbreeder has the wrap ups from round 1.

In Touring Leg Group A, the RAU Griffins started their season off well with a win against a determined, but understrength Urslo Bears. Raymondo Rice was on fire early, picking off the Bears and putting them on the back foot for the rest of the game. The Griffins ended up winning conservatively at 2-1. The Zhufbar Forgesmiths entered the league and managed to score a touchdown against the Tor Anroc Unicorns whose roster appears to be coming together for season 3. Still, it was not enough and the Unicorns kept enough players on the pitch to run around them for 2 of their own.

In group B, the Phoenix introducted coach Karnov to his new team with a dominant 3-0 victory. The Gold Wings looked sluggish compared to the grace shown by the defending champions who threw the ball around at will. The Panthers returned to form and announced themselves as competitiors with a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Harlequins in Middenheim. The Harlequins were their own worst enemy in the game, losing two of their players to self inflicted injuries allowing the Panthers a numerical advantage that lead to the win.

In Group C, the Bulls showed why they are considered CBBA Heavyweights with a 2-1 victory over Season 1 Red Ribbon Bowlers, the Great Eagles. The Bulls looked threatening as the Ox returned to form with a TD and a Casualty amongst his heavy involvement. Gunners fans can be optimistic about their future as coach Smegish announced a determined team in their valiant 1-2 loss to last seasons Red Ribbon Bowl winners the BVU Anvils. The Gunners fought hard all game long but were simply too inexperienced and outclassed by the Anvils as Thukar Redthorn ran in 2 touchdowns.

The Pride lived up to their potential to kick off Group D, defeating the Buccaneers in a dominant display in both hitting and ball play. Although the scoreline only read 2-1, the Pride looked uncharacteristically comfortable throughout the game. Halfrick-Holland Heals might be a name you’ll be hearing more of this season as he had a tremendous start to this campaign. In the game between last seasons rookies, the Chevaliers trounced the Outlaws 4-0. There can be no excuses for the Outlaws as they let DeCharney have his way with them despite continually knocking the Chavaliers off the pitch. The only hope for the Outlaws is if they can continue to hit like they did and learn to play the ball as well.

In Group E, the Yhettis showed that they are going to be competitors this season with a win over the Great Dragons as they returned to the big time under coach Redmaul. The 3-0 victory was stamped by the big 3 for the Yhettis in Hafthorson, Lingum and Bakke dominating the Great Dragons with hitting power and technical prowess. Finally, the upset of the round was achieved by the Manticores who defeated CBBA runners up from last season the RSU Scorpions 2-1 in the Imperial Capital. Despite facing a hostile crowd and a star studded team, the Manticores cooked up a victory on the back of determination and solid gameplanning. Licdi Shinninghelm looked comfortable as a captain directing his team around the park and passing to open players as needed as well as running in his own touchdown in the victory. Crucially, this announces the Manticores as a threat to their conference this season, while the Scorps face an uphill battle to repeat on last seasons efforts.

I predict that the Great eagles will lose every game this season. Most will come down to a single dice roll that 1goes r-eroll 1 :p

Great Eagles Season On the Line vs Anvils
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

The Athel Loren Great Eagles are at a crossroads. Their well documented fall from grace last season was dismissed by head coach Polemarch in the Pre-Season. Now they stand 0-1 after a disappointing loss against the Wolfenburg Bulls in round 1. Things don’t look to be getting any easier for the Eagles as they face the BVU Anvils who keep on trucking up the field to win games. If the Eagles lose this game their season is practically over – maybe they can win out and scrape into a Red Ribbon Bowl, but their fate will be in the hands of other teams.

On paper they should be clear favorites. You have the fastest team in the league against the slowest. The most graceful against the most clumsy. Yet, the bookmakers have the Anvils as favorites coming into the game based on recent form. So much will depend on the coin toss, if the Eagles can score early and then force a turnover, it will be hard for the Anvils to score more than twice. Coach Polemarch is surely in the hot seat to come up with a plan B, because losing simply isn’t an option.

Yetees Mustn’t Overlook Manticores as Showdown with Scorpiosn Looms
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

The Erengrad Yhettis have jumped up in people’s eyes as a contender for the CBBA Championship this season after their solid performance in round 1. Naturally, the CBBA establishment is licking their lips in anticipation for the round 3 game against Season 2 runners up, the highly talented Scorpions.

Coach BeefyGoodness will face a tough task in keeping his players focused on their round 2 game against the Manticores. You just get the feeling that if he can’t manage to get his players to respect the Manticores there could be an upset on the cards. The Manticores dug in in their opening game and pulled off the upset of the round defeating the Scorpions. No one believes they have the talent to do it again, but watch out if you’re a Yhettis fan, the Manticores will enjoy flying under the radar and look to snatch another upset to push themselves towards the post season.

WOLFENBURG WAFFLER

D_Arquebus Denies Deathknell for Bull's Dreams!!!!

Scandal has rocked the alehouses of Wolfenburg under the shadow of a shock loss to the new look Gunners team under their new coach Smegish. Coach D_Arquebus was heard to loudly refute claims from some of the Bar Stool coaches lurking in the tap rooms of the North that the Gunners have become a "bogey team" for the Bulls, being one of only two teams to ever defeat them (in their case twice!) under his leadership. The loss must also cast doubt over the rest of the season and whether facing some stiff opposition the Bulls can rally to represent in the Bowl games again this season.

Coach D_Arquebus pointed out the seemingly endless supply of Gunners and intimated they had exceeded the salary cap to hire the full complement of a regulation Blood Bowl team, grossly exceeding the normal limits on CBBA roster size! He points to the revolving door of players coming out onto the pitch long after his lads had nobbled the opposition in the first drive.

Coach D_Arq: "We knocked em dead in the first half and against any normal size team me boys boozin' it up to celebrate at the Half-time Bell would'na left us any the worse for wear. But with all these faceless Gunners coming out onto the pitch.. who recognises any of em yet with no history behind them?... and then Bart losing count of all of em and getting distracted when he had to remove 'is boots to try to keep up... the second half was a disaster! There will be a reckoning I tells ya!"

Coach D_Arquebus was also heard to comment darkly on the mystic practices of the Southerners and the apparent "luck" of opposition blitzer 'Jurgen Julich' and his fondling of a bestial fetish throughout the match.

Coach D_Arq: "They'll take watchin'!"

The raw-vino vine is also rustling over claims that Olaf "The Ox" Sichschlagenmann has lost his nerve. Pundits espousing this view point out his frequent laying down on the job during the last fateful match and also that a "pinched nerve" is no Northman's reason to miss the upcoming fixture against the Anvils. Unkind commentators point out that the hard-hitting Anvils pummeled seven shades out of the Bulls in last seasons Red Bowl game and the Ox is starting to miss more than a few caps for the Bulls...

What a night of cbba action! That might be costly for the Bulls
