I been mulling over Frenzy VS Pro for a heavy hitter type player.

B/MB/T/PO type of player.

I like pro because it gives you that free chance at a reroll on any action he might perform. Of course it would be mainly used for that blown block, IE push back or block result. But it is a 50/50 chance, so that is the down side of the skill.

Frenzy on the other hand gives you almost a automatic reroll of the block dice on the second block. There is a 1/9 chance you will not be able to frenzy (we are assuming here 2DB's), so better odds than Pro. But it does have the situational negative of it can get your player way out of position and in serious trouble.

So which skill do you think overall is a better skill to get that second block in with your "hitter" player.

As a side note: Big Guys, lets just put block on the side for a moment. I like pro on big guys because you have a free shot to override their racial negative BUT frenzy if set up properly could give you 2 X 3db attempts on your victim, the best blocking odds in the game for the knock down.

So if you ignore block, is frenzy better than pro in balance on a big guy?

Frenzy is better for normal players while Pro is better for Big Guys, if you don't take into account picking Block.
Frenzy without Block first is not in my book, especially for Big Guys.

You'd have to ignore any other skills the BG has, the entire rest of any team, and the current team v. team match up, to answer that question.

If the BG is one of your few Guards, then Frenzy can pull them out of position, and possibly get them into real trouble - that's not good. Otoh, if you want to use Frenzy to get that Guard well inside a Cage, then it's good!

Another factor is whether the BG has other skills that you don't want to risk losing if they fail. If Frenzy is 2x the Blocks, it's also 2x the chance to fail. On a Nurgle's Beast? Pro'ly a big mistake, despite some rare exceptions from unusual position opportunities.

(Non-Loner BG's - entirely diff discussion.)

But all in all, for most Loner BG's, once I have Block, I'd grab Pro on on the 2nd doubles, any day, all day long. Free dedicated RR/Turn for each and every action that Loner takes? Sign me up.

Frenzy, pro and Juggs combine very nicely if you want to be confident of taking an opponent down.
Probably frenzy first as if you get a push with a single block you would probably not rr with pro.

Just wanted to see what the masses thoughts were on Frenzy VS Pro.

I think both are really good skills for a "hitter" and hear some feed back on what coaches thought was the better choice in their view.

It's a KPL conundrum Wink

I go pro on blitzers, because I can't stand how frenzy messes with my position. It also puts the blitzer in greater danger.

Don't care about the math, it's just a matter of playstyle for me.

you're also missing the 3rd option - 'I have 1 frenzy player, so I will use the skill pick to choose something good' Razz

Except with str7, and or juggernaut on blitzing. But that narrow case covers only the str induced minotaur with juggernaut...
