Aksel the Annoying, star runner of The Norsican Norsemen just game into his second skill roll. Nuffle blessed him with +ST on the first, but the 3, 3 he rolled this time isn't quite so grand.

Thus comes the dilemma of what to give him?

Guard - Norse only have 5 players with S access, so any excess guard that can be tossed around is good.

Mighty Blow - With ST 4, he can already 2d most targets. MB makes it easier to break an opponent, and let's face it, Norse need people to break, faster than they break themselves.

Nerves of Steel - Seems an odd choice, but with a Thrower on the team, and A access on normal rolls, he could become a potential 2 turner threat with very little effort.

Dodge - Ignore the double roll, ST4 with blodge, then sure hands, and I'll have a good ball carrier. Add Side Step and Diving Tackle, and he plays as well on both sides of the ball. Norse runners don't gain as much from doubles as most players

I would call for dodge on this one. fastest player on the team, +str. Good for making that 2 turn rushedtd, that you need to do now and then.

Having already taken dauntless making him a ball carrier seems like a waste of the skill and the choice of it. I would probably go take MB therefore.

Matthueycamo: He comes with daunt from the factory. st4 blodge ma7, is not a bad ballcarrier, no matter the natural daunt skill.. Norse got plenty to blitz and guard to back it up. Dodge could keep him alive also and a good roadblock.

I vote guard.

Norse are a bash team, but they come with at most 5 Strenght access players. All of these have frenzy.
1 is a Wild Animal and possibly a calwpomber.

2 are natural pombers, coming with jump up. They are also the main targets for the opposition to hit. Their job is more to kill than to support, they will spend many turns prone if used correctly, hence guard isn't the best skill for them imo, still useful but not full effect.

2 are st4 ag2. Meaning they won't always be in the middle of the fight.

Adding a st4 guard, possibly with dodge and sidestep is a big big boost to norse bash game.

Go guard, you won't regret it.

It depends on what you want him to be, say, when he's super star (legend) imo.

Ball Carrier: +ST, dodge, sure hands, ss, fend - maybe guard
Defensive Marker/Sweeper: +ST, dodge, ss, dt, tackle - guard (maybe MB)

Funny I had never noticed that before lol. Never played norse.

I would probably go Guard then.

Guard. You'll have 4-5 MB. ST4 Guard is a PITA especially if you get him to Dodge and SS.

Also, he can always provide an assist against anyone in b2b with him. Handy if mobbed while holding the ball.

Just from a meta gaming perspective, the team is in ranked and he can likely avoid calamity in the 5-6 games to get the 31 spp through picking.

Any use in break tackle? If agility rolls are normal then he could go dodge next and be an ultra mobile useful player on offense and impossible to mark on defence.

Never used norse so season liberally with a pinch of salt.

Norse suffer from chronic shortage of Guard, so Guard for me.

A ST4 Runner is golden as ball carrier so you want any stat increases you roll, Dodge, Sure Hands and Sidestep. After that Break Tackle would be good as ball carrier (on a double) or you could have him double up as your defensive sweeper with Tackle / Diving Tackle. I a less keen on Guard and M Blow on a ball carrier. Decide want you want him to become, then choose. I'd pick dodge.
