WIL Season 5: In their first season in the White Isle League the Bears finish as the winners of the Morien Regional Division. Only defeat is to 5th Legion. WIL Season 6: Bears finish in 2nd place (after Gritter's Kung Pow!!) in the Unicorn Conference, earning a playoff shot at reaching the Premiership. Koadah defaulted the playoff game and we are into the Premiership! WIL Season 7: Solid building year as no players are lost permanently and the team stays in the top division for next season. Defeated by Kung Pow (again) and Irn Bru Reanimator. Only team to beat Manchester's Finest this season. WIL Season 8: The Bears win the Premier league! Nuffle carries them through the season, and they manage 6 wins and a draw versus long-time rivals Kung Pow. Massive celebrations ensue! WIL Season 9: The Bears came roaring out of the gate, reeling off three straight wins. The third win was a 4-0 stomping of Wotfudboy's Amazons, after which he muttered an evil curse about our wonderful squad. Since then it has been all downhill, with one tie and three straight losses, and the Bears close out the season in the playoff spot with a 5th place finish, their worst ever. The Bears eked out a victory in the first playoff game vs. Spoof of the Underworld, but then seem to have shaken off the curse of Wotfudboy as they get all kinds of luck to bulldoze past Achtung Panzer in the playoff final and retain their premiership slot. WIL Season 10: The bears starting on a downer with a loss to Rijs' dwarves. However, they fought back in their next matches earning a win (finally) vs Irn Bru Re-Animator and another win over Something is Rotting (we've yet to see Wide Chapped Rascal take the pitch). With Kung Pow and DFTS in our final two matches we had a chance at pipping the title if we won both. However, a flawed strategy vs. Kung Pow led to a loss, and the season was closed out with a draw vs. DFTS WIL Season 11: First losing season for the Bears. Had the team shredded in a couple matches, and was extremely close to beating Rijs before he got a jammy last turn. However, had a narrow escape to avoid relegation. WIL Season 12: First season with 10 prem teams. Good season for the Bears. Started the season with a severely weakened roster, but managed to build TR/TS while putting together 5 wins from 9. Next season may still be a difficult one, but the top 5 should again be a reachable goal. WIL Season 13: For the first time in the history of the Bears, the team has been relegated. Not good times for Bears fans WIL Season 14: Ugly season marred by forfeits (2 in our favor, 1 against). The team stumbled into the playoffs unwittingly, and got smacked around by Doomed from the Start. Boopsy and Winnie the Pooh will miss the start of next season, not promising. WIL Season 15: Season filled with lots of luck for the Bears. In a very tough conference, Bears finished a close 2nd, with 4 wins, 3 draws and no losses. Were very close to finishing the season in first but got too mangled in game 6 to manage to win the last one. Time to put the Bears on ice for a while. Press Clippings: First the Bears lost Winnie the Pooh and Boopsy, and next they may lose their Head Coach. Rumours abound that Coach Borgen may accept a big paycheck to coach a new side of up and coming talents. Say it ain't so! A DECADE LATER, COMING BACK!!!!! |
