About
About myself:
I´m a lab-nerd who spends way to much time on the internet even though he has finally moved in with his girlfriend. I am doing my PhD in molecular biology and I`m finally back home after a 14 month exile in the US (heaps of fun - great place to live!). My subject often involves waiting for quite some time for bacteria to do their thing or for equipment to complete measurements - so I usually have some spare time to fumbbl.
Now that I live with my girlfriend, we usually spend the evenings together over dinner. That means that my window to play is usually from 19:00 bbtime (when I come home from work on average) to 21:00pm bbtime (when we start having dinner). This is in no way fixed, but you can usually find me online around these times during the week. Weekends are more open to play, but also vary more in times available.

I have a tendency to calculate odds and point at them in a "this statistical exception sucks"-manner. Some of you might call it whining - sometimes I call it this way too. At least you don´t have to listen to all the things I shout and scream at my screen, when you 2dagainst-doublePOW-KILL one of my favorite players or the critical play ends with a doubleskull rerolled in a doubleskull for the 4th time in this half now (been there - seen it - shouted in frustration and I can tell you the matches for both stories).
I am much calmer though than I used to be and maybe even some people think I´m fun to play. Even though I play as hard as I can for the win - but you can be sure, that as soon as I have secured the victory I won´t try to harm your team as long as you don´t plan to retire them anyways.

Me on FUMBBL:
In the beginning I was an utter noob, pixelhugging, yet blood thirsty. I always tried to create the utlimate team - envisioning it as mass PO/RSC chaos that cleared the pitch every game. I sucked. I think it`s good, that I still remember that time. The noob that I was, I blamed the dice, thought of me as the most jinxed player ever. Eventually, I improved to a decent coach - still pixelhugging and elf-bowling. Then I won the UI and - thx to the K factor back in the days - shot to the #1 spot on the CR. To hold that spot, I picked alot and saw a personal insult from the RNG in every loss I took. I think it`s a good thing, I quit back then... after my big break, I like to think that I`m more relaxed and laid back. I can still get mad about dicings, but I try to take them and think about them as down-payment for good dice in the future. I finally managed to break with the worst picking, going more into the tourney scene. To cut down on my pixelhugging tendencies, I started a skaven SMACK team and joined the ELF - and loved it. I was abit surprised, that somehow I worked myself back top the top CR group during that time.
Due to my delusions, I think I belong to the top coaches here on this side. I take pride in this fact, so please don`t confront me with reality. I believe, that being one of the older coaches around (in terms of joining date) and with a prominent CR-position there comes responsibility. So I try to avoid offers, where I have a clear advantage TS or CR wise. Usually I explain such challengers, why I am really likely to win - if they still want to try, I can`t help them. I`m also open to questions regarding tactics or team development. - just chat me up on IRC and see if I have time.
At the moment, I focus on the tourney scene in [R]anked and on the lackbox for casual games, to further distance myself from my picking habits. Tourneys rock! Especially the FUMBBL Tour. So I try to help the tourney organizers, when they need a hand.

On the Black/White-List:
I used to keep those that enjoy being fouled on my whitelist. Unfortunatelly, some of those coaches didn`t like to be on my white list for that reasons and got me blocked. So I put them on my blacklist - though I will still play them.

Things I generally dislike:
1) Coaches seeking to maximize the luck-proportion of the game. This usually involves relying on DP or mass MB or playing ogre. Reducing a match to 'will I have luck on the injury rolls?' is honestly boring. Bloodbowl wouldn`t be bloodbowl, if the winner was always decided by a cointoss.
2) Coaches play bashers exclusively and whine about others (non-bashers) not wanting to play their teams. You guys should realize, that a win in an open game in [R]anked is next to worthless (especially with your pityful CR). So why should I put my team on the line when yours isn`t at stake?
3) Coaches that play just to hurt the opposing team and give a shit about winning the match. This also includes coaches that start fouling as soon as they have been outscored in an attempt to spoil the winner´s fun. I also don`t like coaches, that think fouling is the most important part of bloodbowl. But well.. as I try to be a good and fun opponent, I will give all those mentioned some extra fouls to enjoy.

Things I generally like:
1) Close matches
I like it, when both coaches have to show their coaching skills instead of one having a significant advantage. Matches where both sides have roughly equal teams and roughly equal luck - those are the matches I love.
2) Crowdpushes
Nothing shows your skill more than an elaborate play involving multiple chainpushes to get rid of a player or two.
Masterdisciplin - crowding sidesteppers through chainpushes (though that might be seen as an exploit I love it).
3)Tourneys and Competition
If your game counts for something, then it`s way more exciting. You will be forced to play games you rather wouldn`t and if you can snatch away the victory you feel even better.

Remember:
When you feel you are screwed by the dice, look at this match and smile, because you got off lightly.... and no.. there wasn`t any mighty blow, dirty player or get the ref involved.

Career Highlights: ***Warning! Inflated Ego!***

Ulthuan Invitational I:
I entered this major as an elfbowler. The UI appealed to me, because I thought that my Midwinter elves wouldn`t get mangled. The qualifier saw me slip though without lasting harm, but when I looked at the competitors, I felt the need to pump up my team abit more, eating a death and 3 niggles in the games and 3 more niggles from aging. Where I had won the qualifier with a 266/253 team, I had to start the mainround with a 277/234 squad. 13 elves and 5 nigglers among them. I was close to withdrawing from the competition. First round was a mediocre chaosdwarf team, that I managed to turn over, but when I stalled for the win, they started fouling until they killed my top blitzer. That was ontop of 2 more SI already suffered. Next the elves had to face the Lone Stars, already a legendary team back then and stacked with claw/RSC. Opening kickoff saw a chaos fan kill my witch with a rock. The apo was used to patch her up - for one turn, as she was killed on the next blitz. I managed a turnover, but the chaos was able to draw and when I made my attempt for the gamewinner, my few remaining elves weren`t able to prevent the sack. I had already resigned, when Qaz decided to try for a TD pass instead of just going into overtime. He overlooked my AG5 passblock elf, that forced a fumble, picked it up and threw the gamewinning pass in T16. I couldn`t believe it. Next match, those elves managed to dance around JackDaniels and his 74TS stronger orcs, aided by the rain and in the final, they snatched the title from another orc team coached by Flix. After that, they were so mangled, that they never really recovered. When that very lizzard team that had lost to them in the qualifier by cointoss only, managed to kill their special prices, the team was retired.
