AIBowl ... now make your own!
Download

Version 0.65.

Note, because leap path finding wasn't implemented very efficiently, the AI may be quite slow on older machines when using a Slann team (any Intel Core 2 duo or higher will be still be fine).

Features
  1. Play a complete LRB5/6 client.
  2. Select different team rosters. Download your own favourite rosters from FUMBBL and add them to the "teams" directory to see them in action.
  3. Make your own Bot! Check out the open source example that is provided. Everything is available to make a fully featured Bot, including the source code of the GrodBot to use as a starting point.
  4. Play against a Bot, or play two Bots off against each other! The packaged Bot (GrodBot) is not too bad. Probably plays an average defense, and below average offense.

Instructions to play AIBowl

Simply dowload the package from the URL above. Unzip it. Click on the file "AIBowl.jar" to launch the game, or (using a command prompt for example) navigate to the directory and type java -jar AIBowl.jar

Instructions for Bot developers

Download the program from the above link and unzip it. Look for a file in the main directory: "instructions_to_Bot_Building.txt". This describes in detail how to get started in the world of BloodBowl AI Bot making! Note that I would start with the "GrodBotAdvanced" which has been cleaned up a bit with comments and been given the latest code updates. If anyone would like to be on a FUMBBL mailing list to be notified of updates, please let me know.

Nice work. Improved since last time you made a AI. Next you should think about dodging. I started a game of HE vs DE with grodbot controling both and not a single dodge.

I just wish i knew how to make a bot so it could kick your bots ass :D

Yeah at the moment it doesn't try to dodge or hand-off, but from here it is really easy to improve.

It is still not good enough to challenge a decent player, but the fun now is to improve it, or to make your own!

Who else is thinking.... BOTLEAGUE!
Posted by WhatBall on 2010-09-15 17:15:18
SillySod beat me to the punch. BOTLeague would be awesome!

Grod, you get a 6 sir.

A bot league would be a great way to improve the intelligence of the AI, if all the coaches involved are actively trying to create the winningest bot AI they can.

Make it so the human does all the roster stuff and pregame, and the bot plays the entire game itself. Only other rule would be each coach has to maintain his own bot code?

How long until someone makes a PaulhicksBot?

I have no clue what this is

LOL at SnakeS.

This is very cool.

Just wait until some mad Korean builds one and inflicts it on the Cyanide site, and then sits back and farms the victories!

About a Bot League, I added some information to the Blog above (under the obvious title). I will flesh out the details more if anyone else actually makes a Bot!

Hm, I really don't manage to pass at all... I tried several times but if i click to start my action as a pass action it acts like in a moveaction. If i start my action with a moveaction, I can't click the pass button later.
