When do you leave a team as "Major ready"?
When preparing for a major, I was wondering when people stopped playing games?

I've got a High Elf team that's shaping up quite nicely.

Thing is, at this TV, there's basically mostly Chaos and Nurgle, with the odd CD thrown in, meaning I can't really get the extra races required for my ELF cycle, as they aren't around this high (next time I'm taking a rookie team!).

It also means that each game comes with high risk of multiple deaths for preparation, as I'm unlikely to get soft games often(cas wise).

When do people generally count themselves as prepared for majors with squishy teams?

To be fair I had the same problem before CoS with Nurgle. Everyone is squishy at high TV thanks to clawpomb.
About 2k TV some money in the bank no MNG is ready I guess.

Agreed, they look about as ready as they are gonna be.

Always beware that 1 last prep game as thats the one that cripples the team.

Well, I can't give advice for being 'Major' ready since I've never advanced beyond round 1 in any Ranked tournament. However, for ELF I can say this: at your current TV you'll probably get reduced to something less lethal after 1 game :) So I recommend you play your Cat A & B games now while the double point bonus for TV is high. Then you can rebuild when you've dropped down to something between TV 1500 and 1750.

Personally, if my team happens to be strong when a major rolls around, great! Otherwise I'll just enter anyway. Building for majors is a huge pain in the ass and not worth the effort.

imo the team looks ok to enter a major and be competitive. you could aim for more but that´s risky. however depends if you really want to put the team to sleep until the next major starts.

i dont think money is necessary for elves anymore - you wont be able to hire a wizzie all the time like in lrb4, and money is often countered by inducements. in addition, with the deadlier rules (pombclaw, apo effectivenes reduced 50%) it will be hard for elves to save money anyway

I dont think it is quite there yet, get a shadowing player and diving tackle as well then you should be good to go. Myabe leap on a strip ball tackle player too. But certainly not far off.

Yeah, Garion, that's what I thought...I need a strip baller badly, and a leap strip ball would be nice. It's just the risk of getting one... ag 5 st 4 catcher is okay at popping the ball from a cage, and my team is fairly good at passing the ball away then. There's quite a few of the more important players who are fragile (looking at the av 6 catcher..).

Flashback, I've got 3/4 of the Cat A/B games at over 40 points...of all those just need to find and win another Cat A. I've only actually been recording the wins I was happy with in that matrix, I'm currently on about 205 points. In addition, I've been over 1900 tv for about 10 games now...I don't fancy playing another 10 and just waiting for my team to get destroyed so I can keep playing ELF. I'll enter the next season with a low TV team instead.

I might leave them until I get bored, I've got plenty of other teams I can skill up to higher TV's.
