Yepp, it refers to exactly that series. My wife and I a currently watching it for the second time. Not sure I'd call us "adult people" though.
Never had a gameboy... but I borrowed one once or twice and immediately got addicted. One of the few occasions where I really got into trouble with my parents.

I enjoyed Buffy for quite a while, but am not really tempted to watch the whole thing again. Don't even have the time to watch everything I want to the first time. =)

Yep, that gameboy comparison was pretty weak. Still succeeded in leaving a bad comment on the Buffy series, wohoo. ;)

The watcher picks a name, a portrait, invents a background story for his player and determines her development goals. You decide which skill the player learns, but not at the time when the skill is rolled, but in advance (simulating the necessity to train a skill before using it effectively). On a double the player can also turn into a thrower, catcher or blitzer (ie. will be retired and re-hired in that position).
You also decide when it's time for the player to go into recovery due to permanent injuries (ie. she will be retired and hired as a rookie after some time). There are artificial restrictions on skill choice, too - some skills have prerequisites, a few are completely banned.
Whenever a decision has to be made, I contact you - but due to the training goal system, it should never really be urgent (as with other teams where players are "godfathered").
