Today a close friend of mine visited me for the afternoon. We hadn't seen each other for 5 years and had little to no contact over the last 10 years in general. Some friendships last nonetheless.

Speaking to and sometimes even just remembering her calms me down, for I'm usually a restless, somewhat troubled mind.

Today she unintentionally made me realize how blessed my life currently is, despite all the problems I so often primarily see. My comfortable home, my kids and how they have turned out so far, the deep and lasting relationship with my wife, my health, my wits... so many great things I have!

Even now, hours after my friend is gone, it still makes me smile. I feel good, I feel settled. It probably won't last, but right now I'm deeply thankful for everything I got and for her to make me see.

FUMBBL is truly great as a hobby, but a bad substitute for other important things in life. I wish to embrace those aspects more, so I might cut back a little. You might not even notice, as it will probably effect things like reading forums and blogs and browsing through teams more than anything else.

Peace of mind is a beautiful thing.
