Robbert Graaf(RG) took the trip to Ostland and Grenzburg to meet up with Grenburg Greenskins coach Matthueycamo(MC), for a talk about their first playoff run ever.

RG: Can you tell me about your playoff run?

MC: First we met the Knights and we were sure to lose that one. Back in season 1 we played a 1-1 draw before they became a powerhouse, and in season 3 we lost 2-1. So odds were stacked against us. But Arrinton had a few demons from that season 3 loss to excercise and he had great game here. He killed both Lou Groza and Taylor Lewin who played in that season 3 loss also. And then we took control of the game, and walked it home.

RG: How about your divisional game? Meeting your nemsis the Wreckers.

MC: We have had a hard time with the Wreckers before, so I was a bit surpriced that some of the media hailed us as favorites. We have met the Wreckers 3 times before, and never scored a TD against them, so this was quite a daunting task for us. The first we were playing 16-13 and the three players the wreckers were missing were all good players important to stopping the way we like to play, missing high ST AV and guard players certainly helped us in the contact. When we took out two more guard players things were looking good but the real turning point was as Tim Brown went for the corner late first half. He tripped and stunned himself allowing us to stop the score and go into the half 0-0. The second half was not all plain sailing even being up so much in the power game as the conditions just got worse through the match. But in the end we pulled out winners 1-0.

RG: You have had an amazing unbeaten run, tell us about it.

MC: Unbeaten in 11 games now which is staggering for the franchise something we never really thought was achievable, there are just so many good sides in the league. Everything we have achieved is a bonus from where we started out the season, even winning the division. Perhaps that is the secret, no expectations or pressure so the players have just gone out each game played with a freedom that the lack of expectation brings and suddenly we find ourselves in the Conference final. It still feels like a bit of a dream to be honest.

RG: Lets talk about the Conference final. How do you see your chances against Irrana Avalanche?

MC: We're just going to go out and enjoy the occasion, you never know with Blood Bowl but fundamentally nothing will change in the preparation. It should be a good game and whatever happens this Grenzburg team will go down in years to come as one of the best possessed by the franchise. We know we are short on flair but the guys have spirit and grit in bucket loads and will fight for every inch of turf.

To be honest I don't see us as favourites, Avalanche beat the mighty Wolfskins! 20/80 or maybe 30/70 at best but we'll give it a good go right through to the last turn.

This concludes this talk and we just hope for a good brawl in the conference final. Rumour has it that the game is on for tonight. We hope for action this evening!
