This is Robbert Graaf predicting the playoff games in
DLE.
In SHC we have reached the final game before Superbowl. Who will take that final step? Who will carve their team into history? Time will tell. The game is between:
Kislev White Wolves vs
Praag Grizzlies
White Wolves are SHC West Champions and no1 overall seed in the whole DLE. Regular season was a massive 12/3/1 with solid play all the way. In the first playoff game White Wolves faced Irrana Avalanche, a team Wolves have never beaten before. But they did just that. As expected blitzer Fletcher Cox (+St/MB/+St/Tackle/BreackTackle) player a part in the win with his 7 blocks, but it was catcher Kendall Wright (+Ma/+Ag/Sure Feet/Sprint/+Ma), who was the man of the hour with his 2 TDs. A player the Grizzlies must watch out for. He must be stopped.
When we look at the stats for SHC we see the following:
- no 1 most TDs (31)
- no 1 defence (12 TDs allowed)
- no 1 completions (37 passes)
- no 1 passing yards (126 yards)
This is a great team. They know how to defend, and how to score. That is the only things that really matters in Bloodbowl. Isn't it? Or did I miss something? We also have the most passing team in the league. How refreshing that the passing game makes it this deep into the playoffs.
Grizzlies are SHC North Champions, and no 2 overall seed in the whole DLE. A solid regular season gave 9/6/1, so also only 1 loss during the season. In the first playoff game the Grizzlies defeated the Rangers in a very good performance, but also hard played game. Grizzlies won that game 2-0, and managed to keep the Rangers from any big destruction. Blitzer Jace Amaro (+AG/Tackle/Mighty Blow/Side Step/Leap/Dodge) did his thing and made both TDs. Stellar performance by him, and blitzer Siffridus Draken (+STR/Mighty Blow/Dodge/Guard/Pilling On) made 8 blocks and leads the team in that category in this game. Grizzlies need both to do their job again, to have a shot here.
Grizzlies have ST4 player Ed Stinson back from injury, but now they have ST4 lineman Gene Upshaw out with MNG. So pretty much the same Strenght in the team as the Rangers game. However a rookie lineman has been to the gym a lot lately, and got +ST just like the rest of the team. Grizzlies remain a +ST powerhouse in DLE. When we look at the stats for SHC we see the following:
- Split no 5 in defence (16 TD allowed)
- No 4 in blocks made (742)
- no 5 in block ratio (Blocks for/Blocks against 1,19)
Not as outstanding as Wolves, but still very good. Grizzlies are a team that like to get up close and use their superior strenght advantage in the hittinggame. So they excell in other aspects of the game than the White Wolves. Two different styles will face off in this conference final. Will be a great spectacle.
Both teams have very capable defences, and where Wolves like to pass, and make more spectacular plays, the Grizzlies are more grinding it on both sides of the ball. White Wolves and Grizzlies have met 2 times before and both times White Wolves won it. (2-0, 2-1). The two teams have not met before this season, and Grizzlies have only improved since the last meeting. This game will go down to the wire. Non of the teams got a natural oneturner, but both are very close with MA9/Sprint/sure feet. Here the White Wolves has a small egde, as they got AG4 on their oneturner. This could decide the game. Besides season stats favours the WhiteWolves sligthly, as both teams de well in different areas of the game.
Grizzlies wins
I think they will surprice and go to the superbowl. Coach sonrises (or is it Jeffrey?) has put a good team together, and they work well as a team. Same does the White Wolves, and coach Doofr looks to know what he is doing with his team also. But my gut feeling tells me Grizzlies runs off with this one. This season belongs to the Grizzlies. Sorry Doofr. A combination of Sonrises and the dices will stop your great season.
A big thankyou to BigF for making the BLITZ! and to ttorvatn for providing all the handsome stats I use for this.
I, Robbert Graaf, is currently 6/7 on this season, and will ofcourse help you all with your bookmaking on these games. ;)
