Welcome welcome welcome!
I, Robbert Graaf, is here to help you know who will win the SuperBowl. Its that special time of the season. 1 game left. Draft League Europe Superbowl. The game that every team dreams of playing. The game that 30 teams every season can watch with envy and maybe pride if they pulled off a draw or win against one of these teams during the regular season. This season we have 2 brand new teams in the big game. We bring you:
Praag Grizzlies(SHC) vs
Middenheim Classics(KFC)
First. Here we have the ARC-Powerranking provided by Arcayn every season. Stellar job. Here is what he said at midseason after 9 games from all teams.
1. Praag Grizzlies: Coach sonrises and his staff in Praag have amassed a huge team. Lots of STR in the Northern lands these days. And he seems to have done so very strategically, while many of the other SHC powerhouses are down (Erengrad, Wolfenburg MCW, Brionne, Kemperbad....) Major Kudos to Coach sonrises. Now go out there and prove me right!
And then the other team:
6. Middenheim Classics: CURSE NO MORE! The Classics have whethered the storm that is the K-Dub and coach Bigf has made them a competitor by improving each season. This team should win the K-Dub with the backward steps by the Pats to re-tool.
Not a bad shout by Arcayn. Seeding Grizzlies as no 1 overall, and here they are in the top flight. And seeding Classics no 6, so they have over performed slightly. Not bad, not bad.
Now we turn to look at the Grizzlies and how they got to the big game. Grizzlies came from 2nd seed in regular season with a 9/6/1 record, and got a byeweek. In the divisinal weekend they faced a grim opponent. The Bilbali Rangers (Known also as Bilbali Butchers), and got out of there with a single MNG, and a very solid 2-0 win. Moving on to the alltime favorites from Kislev White Wolves in the Conference final. Here it ended with a 2-1 win, and no injuries at all. A quicksnap and a OTTD in turn 16 secured the win. It was that close.
The Grizzlies bring a full 16 man squad to the big game. Can you ask for more? I think not. The Grizzlies bring a powerhouse of a team. 6 +ST players. But on top they come with 3 +AG players. Don't be fooled by the mighty strenght. It is the nimble work from players like
Jace Amaro and
Zack Ertz that puts the iceing on the cake. The +ST guys deliver the pressure, and the 2 AG guys deliver the death punch. The team plays a grinding style, but can turn to fast score if need be. A dangerous team indeed.
And what about Classics? Well. They come from regular season with a 11/1/4 record. The Classics lost the byeweek to Patriots in week 16 of the regular season, so they had to take the long road starting with the wildcardweekend. Here Classics faced the Sluggers. Lots of cas, and 2-1 win later the Classics met the Scimitars in the divisional round. Here they managed a shotdown and a secure 1-0 win. Again dealing out lots of Cas, making the Scimitars game a non-contest early on. Then the big game. Facing divisional rivals Patriots in the Conference final. It is said that losing to a team teaches you more than winning. This might be the case here, because Classics pulled out a surpricing 2-1 win, and are now ready for the biggest scene of them all. SuperBowl!
Classics doesn't have the same amount of +ST as the Grizzlies, but they make up for it with loads of guard. One of those are missing and the Classics bring 15 players to this game. Classics also bring a bunch of +Ag to the party. Will we see a game with passing!?!?! (I can't wait for the Red Emsk Cardinals to make the superbowl at some point). Players like
Le'Veon Bell and
Vincent Jonckers have shown the way all season. The first with a good hard running game, and the latter with some hardhitting power to clear the way for the run.
The 2 teams have only faced off once before. It ended a 1-1 draw. So for all the marbles we play to find out which team is the best of the 2. When it comes to the ProBowl selection this season, Grizzlies got Zack Ertz on the team and Classics got Jensen Foster(another killer than Jonkers!). My take here is that both teams like the up close fighing game, and like the running playstyle. This combined with a good nose for when to break free and run for the TD with all the AG players on both sides. The positioning game will be a real dance, not like a slow waltz, but like a snappy foxtrot! So Classics know how to punch a hole and run through(over the opponent), and Grizzlies are good at lockdown and get around on the flank. This is everybodys game really. But I must call a winner. Maybe it is time to remind you all that I am 8/10 this playoff. Far better than last seasons abysmal 6/11.
Grizzlies wins
This is a dicegame. Will Classics get some takeout, they will run with this game. If Grizzlies manage to lockdown Classics with all their strenght they will win it. I for one can't wait to see the big game live. And as Ben_awesome says. Remember to bring rocks! Good luck to both teams!
Feel free to submit your winner below!
Rumour says game time will be saturday evening around 22.30.
Robbert Graaf out.
