One alternate to CR
ArrestedDevelopment, forum ninja, found the link to an old thread where Christer quickly put together a rating system I was curious about. Thanks a bunch for that research, AD.

As I recall, 'Murker's Marks' is a system reset each January 1st. Each year, to move up or down in rank significantly, you need to play people near your own rank. For a legend or a noob, to win or lose against someone on the opposite end of the spectrum doesn't adjust your ranking that much. It takes steel to sharpen steel.

The race of each team played is NOT counted, except for the fact that if EITHER coach uses a stunty team, the post game rating change is HALF of what it normally would be.

The result is a system in which only the baddest asses on FUMBBL are near the top, and no good players will be near the bottom, as they will always be defeating lesser coaches when ranked low.

In my book, the MM system affirms who kicks ass here day in and day out.

Enjoy.

etc. etc.

Christer rocks. (and Malmir slays)

This ranking system must be excellent because it says I am a very good coach. Rated 5 for truthiness.

Another list, another blow to the ego.

But yay, numbers!

It seems great..... but far too difficult to find yourself if you're not at the top/bottom of the list.

Ctrl+f is a thing in browsers..

Good to see I had an increase over the 3 years. Though I think choice of race was a big factor in that. Lizardmen games and a bit less ogre games.

Looks a top notch system to me :)

How does amount of games factor into it? If it's reset on Jan 1, I assume everybody starts at 150?

I don't particularly mind being a Veteran, considering myself a casual player. However, I'm not sure whether 19 games played this year is a large enough sample size? It would be interesting to see the development, doubly so to see how my past week's slump has affected things.

Rated six, saving the links.

It is more like a ladder, in that you can't move up high if you don't play frequently. The 'legends' of any given year are well practiced veterans, with lots of games, and lots of wins.

Additionally, it ISpossible for a horrendous 'picker' to be rated rather highly in this system, as their MM (or CR equivalent) does indeed move up a very small amount with each noob they crush. If they ALWAYS avoid fair fights with skilled opponentss, they can sneak near the top of this rating.. and almost any other rating system conceivable, imho, other than a true ladder.

Well, I noticed a horrendous picker right below my name on one of the lists so good job for that XD
I'm fine with being a Star on those lists as I play more to build teams over CR gains.
