First Sprint Down
Recently completed my first HLP sprint with the Underground Kings and I have learned some things:

• First off, Humans are a surprisingly fun race to play. My first time using the guys since 3rd. Living and dying on 3+'s and 1/9's makes for pretty exciting games.

• Humans are great vs elves and other ST3 teams.

• I'm going Guard/MB/Tackle for the first 3 normals in whichever order based on team needs for all the blitzers and dodge on doubles. Haven't decided where I'm gonna go at 51, I guess we will find out with a premiership sprint but those 3 skills will be a solid foundation for all.

• Employing a vamp on the team doesn't hurt.

• If humans got a buff anywhere if would lie in the catchers somehow. Everyone has their idea of how and ill give mine here. Norse Runner stat line and while keeping their original skills at 90k. So, 0-2 7337 Catch, Dodge.

• Still don't know how I feel about the big.

Thanks for the read on humans and please leave your own thoughts as well.

Hooray for trying new things and learning!

If catchers are changed, I hope they stay 0-4. Part of the reason to play humans is variability. 0-4 leaves for more options then 0-2, even if few people would use more than 2.

Not that anyone is listening to us, but do NOT take away MA 8 from the Catchers. Grats on trying a sprint. I'm seriously thinking about giving it a go next season.

@wood- it's rare to see a team take more than 2 catchers as is.

@cavetroll- that's what +ma is for brotha. And it ain't too late to compete. 16 games in 3 weeks is doable.

That's why MA 8 is so great - because you can reach MA 10!

@Stone- yes, but starting with ST3 means ST5!

Humans are the most enjoyable race to play.
It is extremely pleasant to be sometimes the bashy team and other times the light team. That is what is really great IMO.

However i'm not good enough to manage claw teams playing humans, they just destroy me and my "hybrid" way of playing.

About the catcher i have mitigate opinion about them.
I find them very useful and like them as they are (not from a fluff point of view though ST2 while HE/PE elf catcher ST3...).
Also think they are correctly priced.
But it's true that i will never probably take more than 2.
If i have to boost them i would rather make them AV8 for maybe 10k more. But fluff wise it woulds looks weird.

8 3 3 7, Dodge, Catch, 90.000gc

Would make rookie humans even better but what can you do. I have no problem with them being used as 4 more 'blitzers' as they are still AV7 so bringing 4 of them will make the team considerably more fragile.

Gratz on the Conference sprint. Looking forward to seeing that team soon above 1600 TV. Keep hitting hard.
