As some of you may be aware Wreckage has been collecting donations to get Kalimar a Bloodbowl team and say thank you for all the hard works he's put in on the awesome new client.

After a little discussion we settled on Amazons as I've not done them and everyone loves the team.


My initial test model was more of a sporty female look as I thought it might be good to use them as humans too since Kalimar plays them too.

He wanted them to look a little more savage so I changed the head for a wood elf, removed a shoulder pad and added a loin cloth and severed heads.


The head is still a bit elven so I am now going to combine these plastic parts (from the awesome plastic Dark eldar range) with the Mordheim Amazons I hate the chicken suit body and skull face bits but the rest of them have potential and the gang leader will make a great wiz. I may go the whole hog and get 2 boxed sets to combine with the plastic bits I've already got. I will be adding other things like feathers or trophies and sculpting some bits of jewellery and decoration onto the models as well.

I've also done a test model for a blitzer using a sister of battle helmet and a more dynamic pose.

The throwers and catchers will be posed to reflect their positions as well and probably be more lightly armoured.
I will also be converting up a zara the slayer in the similar lines to the rest of the team with more decoration. Careful consideration will be needed to avoid her stakes looking like a sex toy (there are more than enough porn zons already).


For colour schemes I was thinking maybe white and green with some red? To match the fumbbl theme maybe.

I've also been contacted by Wilf to paint up a team for the STABB Cup in St Albans on the 1st and 2nd October.

We arranged to paint a team up beforehand as I wanted to keep the White Isle Star Bowl prize exclusive and it meant I could pick a team I haven't done before.

I had acquired some 2nd edition goblins and skaven with the intention of doing a combined Skaven/Underworld/Goblin team. However as is common with my own projects I got distracted by another "amazing idea I just had to do" and in any case the Rat Ogre I wanted to do was too big compared to the rest of the team.

Thanks to a couple of guys on TFF I was able to get the other skaven thrower and a 2nd edition troll.


The skaven really are fantastic models and may well be my fave ever BB models. I have already completed the 2 linemen all except the base.


I have also managed to finish 3 goblins, I will be doing 9 of these in total and intend to do a couple of mutants, most likely with 2 heads, big hand and horns. The plan is to magnetise them for added flexibility and I will likely do the same with the warpstone troll to give him the option of claws or tents. The troll needs some converting to make him more "warpstoney" too.


These other 2 goblins lovely skaven Blitzers and thrower are all at stage 2 of painting (shading) and i hope to get some of them done over the next week or 2. The colour scheme is based on the crest of St Albans, I tried a couple of variations with gold over silver or really muddy clothes with rusty armour but Wilf liked the clean look best with yellow.



Finally JimJimany won the White Isle Star bowl a couple of weeks ago so I will be painting up a team for him and once he's decided which race will be blogging about it, so I will be a busy boy.
