Min Maxing problem
With many blogs going around on the subject of Min/Maxing I have to have my say, I don't like it, but it takes a certain focus and dedication, lets say it Skill to create killer teams with very low TV/TR. Personally I've met a few 'dodgy' teams in my time on FUMBBL only had to concede once.
I have to agree with the min/maxers on one thing if its in the rules why not do it.
Min/maxers play to to the letter of the law 'if not the spirit'.
Solution is to assign a residual team value to every healthy player that is retired, say 10k for players worth 10 - 40k, 20k for players with values 50 - 80k, and 30k for players worth more.
If that's too complex just +10 TV everytime heathy player is retired.
None min/maxers don't generally retire healthy players, if they do TV is not the be all and end all for them, happy to play with a slight disadvantage or don't retire the player.
thoughts anyone

Go play an Undead/Nurgle team for a bit and see if you still support this. TV bloat or useless bench fodder, pick your poison :P

This discussion has been done many times. The TV for retired players is not one of the better suggestions IMHO.

You used to have a choice to put your retired players on as coaches. Its too complex. You cant min/max if you are forced to play up against teams where you need inducements. So called " Even games" are the burden of the TV design in Box. Id rather see it TW.

Nope. Better is replace TV with Team Strength. Even better comparative TS. e.g. the value of dodge depends on how much tackle the opponent has.

Complicated stuff and unlikely to ever be perfect but probably better than what we have now for the Box.

How bout something simple? Eliminate Chaos Pact. Doesn't fix it all, but there's nothing bad about erasing them from existence IMO.

Beerox that logic would see every team removed based on personal bias, nothing more. Amazons min/max with a higher win rate than any Pact team, thus showing that it is indeed only bias causing Pact to be singled out.

The solution is to play ranked/league.

Some points.

If blader4411 doesn't like it, it's probably a good thing.

I think there are better fixes than charging teams to retire players, however with the rules as they are now, and this was the only addition, it would be a good thing. It could be called a player pension or retirement fund or golden handshake.

"lets say it Skill to create killer teams with very low TV/TR." No, it doesn't, it doesn't take any skill at all. Just time and a warped sense of priorities.

I play a couple of undead teams tend to lose zombies as fast as I gain them, think I could handle the extra TV, it would only be small compared with someone who retires players to maintain low TV
