ST5 ChaosDwarf Bull
I got this relatively new CD team in the Box.
https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=824551

One bull rolled +ST. Had to take it. Now how about his further build up?

1. Breaktackle, then block. very conservative, but he can maybe BT into a cage and make the difference
2. Block, BT. To make him more useful like a bigguy fast.
3. BT, Wrestle, Tackle. Just to make him a good ballhunter
4. BT, Wrestle, Strip Ball. Again to hunt the ball. But this is a classic talk about Tackle vs Strip ball.

What would you do?

sure hands

Hmm. Didn't think of that. Maybe it's because I usually let the Hobbos run the ball, but this team I have triet to build up the bulls faster than I usually do. I just feel that ST 5 is a bit wasted on a ballcarrier with no skills at all. If he has block, then sure hands could come into play.

While both can/shpould do both, the classic cd build is(was) one hittr bull and one baller bull. Str5 is good for either. so it depends on the rest of the team, as usual.

I don't think the s5 changes much. Next 2 skills are block and break tackle (I have ways gone block first and rarely regretted it). After that evaluate whether you need a carrier or a sacker. If the other bull rolls a double for Dodge then the s5 guy becomes a sacker and I like Tackle next. If a Hob develops into a carrier (s or a4, dodge) then the s5 becomes a sacker. If there's no other option I'd take SH as skill 4. Or skill 5 if he rolls a double or another +str. If he gets +ag, maybe pass on SH.

Hope for a double (dodge) and a +AG
And then you'll have this:

I went with block, break tackle, frenzy, stand firm on mine. Surf all mens (and cagebust on occasion):

I can't think of any reason to take BT before Block. I wouldn't be using a bull to do wrestling, make a wrestle tackle hobgoblin for that.

Bull development is about hedging bets looking for +AG which makes them ridiculous. So with this guy I would have his normals going Block, BT, then your choice of MB, Tackle and Strip. If you get doubles it probably give Dodge. Sure Hands is also fine in there somewhere.

If you are making a sacker, you need to think Wressle. The purpose of this player is to Knock the ball carrier down. That's why they are there, that's why they exist. The only other alternative is Frenzy + Block or Frenzy + jugz....

If they are a carrier then block, as this protects against Juggernaut and both downs. But he is not a ball carrier yet....

Cmon the players name is "Homer Sexual" FFS as if he is going to Block ahead of Wressle. DO IT FOR FLUFF! Oh wait, the Players name is Seymor butz... You must do it for FLuff!

I will never understand why teams like CD would ever want a wrestle strip ball player, especially on a Bull.

It not like you have anyone who can move in and scoop up the ball to do elfy stuff with it, so is it just because you think every team should have this role on it? Or do you roll a lot of +AG on your hobbers?

Or do you just face a lot of opponents who leave easy blitzes on their ball carrier who also lacks sure hands?

Block/Break Tackle/Tackle is what a bull needs to be a defensive nightmare. Even better if they get a stat and doubles for dodge. Sure hands is fine too. Legend would usually wind up being stand firm in lieu of any more stats/doubles.

So ST5/Block/Break Tackle/Tackle first four. Sub in Dodge on any doubles, sub in additional stats, and then finish off with sure hands (or take it after break tackle) if you want a more reliable carrier, and or stand firm depending on the subsequent skill ups.

He'll probably die on a gfi anyway though, since Nuffle thinks it's funny when we try to map out players after just one skill :)

Thanks for all your input.

"so is it just because you think every team should have this role on it?" I like that thought. Does every team need a specific sacker? No they don't. This was very helpful.

The reason to go with BT before Block, makes it easier for him to score goals or break free to save the day defensively, but block makes him more reliable. Decsions Decsions.

If you wrestle with him he will be fouled. Even at armor 9, it will catch up with him.
