Buckle up , this one will be a long one.

So recently my friend started getting interested in Blood Bowl. He played a couple tabletop games with me , found it really fun , then he bought Cyanide's Bloodbowl 2 and he was quite salty when he found out his pc couldnt run it properly. As such , I told him about Fumbbl. I told him I was having great fun , that the rules were properly implemented , that you get used to the graphics in game really fast and that overall it was the most fun and superior blood bowl experience for me. I described the site , told him about the different divisions and told him the best place to learn was to do like me , create a new team then get properly stomped for a while against way better coaches. He laughed and then said to me something that really clicked in my mind :

What team should I play in the Ranked division ?

I asked him what he prefered to do , bash , elfbowl , play wacky teams or a bit of all of that. He then said that he really liked to play bashy because he disliked the way you lose many a players when you play elves. I then said (probably stupidly) that in Fumbbl , some elf coaches dont really lose all that many players because they flat out refuse to play against bash. He froze , then asked me why some coaches wouldn't play against certain races. I told him those races would become really strong at high tv and they felt that it was unbalanced to play against them at that high tv , that the damage caused to them would inevitably drop them back down and they'd have to play a lot more games to get back that high , and that a lot of coaches dont have the time to do so. He said alright , but what about them (the bash teams) at medium to low tv ? I reluctantly said that you still dont get games all the time because players dont want you to reach high tv ( At least that's the impression that some coaches gave me ) and that they felt there was too many teams of specific races (Chaos and Nurgle in that case). They also dont play you because of a string of skills called CPOMB. They feel that the teams of that race specifically (with chaos dwarves) dont allow for good play and instead rely on dumb overpowered skills and that it wasnt fun to lose to a ''worst coach'' just because they spammed that specific skill set. So that's why some ( a lot ) of coaches dont play against those types of teams. He then wondered if they'd still play against those races ( Chaos and Nurgle ) if they dont have that spam or arent super bashy. I flat out told him that while some will start playing against you again , a lot will just ignore you even if they have a weaker/stronger team , a lower/higher coach rating and that i'll suck cause when you try to play a non-clawpomb spam team you'll still not get games against anyone and your only options will be to start preying on new / weaker coaches , pray that a coach will give you a game or you'll be forced to endure clawpomb spam after the other JUST TO GET A GAME WITH A NON CPOMB SPAM TEAM.
