This group is for coaches who want to qualify for the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=195">FUMBBL Cup 3</a> via instant tournaments. The rules of the instant qualifiers are as per the normal rules of Swiss as set out in the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index&pagename=Tournament%20Structure">Tournament Structure FAQ page</a>, where each qualifier contains 8 teams which each play 3 games, and seeding for the first game is based on Team Strength (i.e. strongest plays second-strongest, third-strongest plays plays fourth-strongest etc).
These are INSTANT tournaments, which means you have to play all three of those games BACK TO BACK TO BACK. This can not be stressed enough... you have to be able to play three games in a row, taking between 4 and 5 hours. You have to join the #fumbbl_cup3 channel on Afternet for the start of the tournament, and be present there until your 3 qualifier games are finished.
In the event of a 3-round qualifier tournament ending with two or more teams tied on points, the deadlock will be broken by comparing results according to these criteria, in order of preference: head to head results; touchdown difference; touchdowns scored; casualties caused; casualties suffered; d6 roll.
While the structure of the qualifiers is open to change depending on demand, at this stage it is envisaged that there will be 15 instant swiss qualifiers, along with 15 knockout qualifiers and two wildcards. When the qualifiers are finished there will be a final 32-team knockout tournament to decide the winner of the FUMBBL Cup 3. Read the main Cup page for further details.
FUMBBL Cup 3 qualifier tournaments count for rankings where K=6 ... in other words, games count towards your coach ranking three times as much as normal Ranked games.
