He has watched many fine players come and go around him, yet his cool, calm presence keeps the team on track as he waits in the backfield, ball in hand, just waiting for someone to get open and within scoring distance. While not the master of the long bomb as later players like Tuco Noriega, Emilio was less reliant on other team members collecting the ball for him, being quite able to go get it himself, even if that meant claiming it off opponents before off-loading it to a nearby receiver.
His later seasons saw his previous escapades begin catching up with him, with a slight hip problem that just wouldn't go away, keeping him out of a few big games before he finally decided to hang up the boots.
