Winter are rare in the Badlands, one remembers them. Not usually happy, because they are hard and this are rather difficult times for the free clans. As Udinaq was born it was winter and it was a strong winter. Icy cold spanned the Badlands. The winter was long and hard. For eons the longest. Many fell victim to him. The sick, the weak, the old and the young. But one child was born to the clan. Udinaq. He was different, not physically, because there he was average. But he was a nerd. Hairless, pale, long ears and rather withdrawn, a winter child. He chose exactly like his father, the way of the warrior. A solid soldier, dutiful and unobtrusively. Until the day when the overlord called the clans and ordered them to send suitable candidates for a secret mission in Norsca. The winter child was sent on behalf of the clan. How perfect? Years passed and the winter child was forgotten, but he came back. As the only out of the mission team and as it lay in his way, he met the secret order. He never talks about this time, but this advanture has inspired him somehow to a second career.
