Roster [L] Lizardmen

IT all started with a friendly gnort* of sauruses gathered regularly at Znazz Zherezz home to watch Cabalvision coverage of the OWCC League. Their favourite team was, of course, the Expats. Finally, One day, Znazz had bought a cheap copy of the official Blood Bowl ball, and the friends tossed it around after watching, and had lots of fun blocking each other. Then they decided this could be more than fun, it could be... their star-crossed future! the Scavengers was born!

PS: gnort is the plural word for sauruses, so you say a gnort of sauruses, just like you say a pack of Wolves or a school of fish... :)


OWCC history_
Season III: Our first season. Finished 4th and missed the cup, but made surprising wins against higher ranked teams Icedragons and Marienburg, and won the Giantslayer award.

Season IV: Could not follow up on their good first season and ended 6th.

Season V: Great season. Won the Conference, but was beaten in the Cup Semi-finals by our heroes, the Expats

Season VI: Looked like an average season, but we got three wins in a row at the end and with the 'dragons draw, we came clear through to the play-offs. Our Luck holds, as we breeze past the Pirates in the first Play-Off match with only 1 casualty, a badly hurt saurus. Next comes the Vagabonds :) Fate and NUFFLE caught up with us in the semi-final, and we succeeded at very little and the Vagabonds won easily.

Season VII: Hanging on at tooth and nails in all the games so far, but we surprisingly won the three first. A loss to the Lumberjacks in a hard fought and very close, not to say brutal, game changed it all, though. Luckily, we hit much harder against the Faraohs, and Faraoh after Faraoh left the field in a steady stream. We scored two TDs also... and made the Cup Third time in a row. Woodies couldn't hold up against the 'Jacks, though, and so we ended second. Congratulations, 'Jacks! As normal in a play-off game, we couldn't keep it together against the undeads from Lahmia... held them to overtime, but that was it...

Season VIII: Yikes. We are moved from Bretonnia to Alibon, and the Conference looks as if it will hurt. A lot. Breezed past Palinam in the first match. We were simply too hard-hitting for the elves, and surfed three elf players in the final defensive drive to win 2-1, and then got lucky against the Pirates (somewhat reduced without Arnold, Siemon and Thomas Bot) and consistently sent his players off, some more injured than others, to win 2-0 after a lucky blitz in the second half. Against Lahmia we hoped for a revenge from their somewhat lucky meeting in the cup last season, but no such luck. His luck kept up, and he won a narrow 1-0 victory. Worse, our apo was so drunk he couldn't tell the difference between Winner's arm and leg (reroll gave broken leg instead of broken arm, the apo probably broke both in an attempt to cover up his incompetence :)), and the match later cost us our only +AG skink... As usual, the season looks to be tight and exciting...Held the GoldLords to a draw, and kept my players, but in the final game against our brethren we couldn't hold it together and lost, putting us out of the play-offs for the first time since season IV. well, well...

Season IX: Back in Bretonnia, which doesn't look too bad, except for... the GoldLords. We start with a hardhitting opener against struggling Lumberjacks. Ended with a draw, though, thanks to an incredible first half by Runaway Aaron III. We beat the Malice in a hardfought game, but were completely helpless against the Dogz in round three. Playing the GoldLords we managed another draw, but the high elves beats us easily. Ended number 8, Our poorest placement ever. And in the ICS we opened with another loss. Seems like the Luck we used to have in tight positions in the golden seasons has left us. We have also lost players as two good skinks have been killed, and Jungle Warrior has lost 1MA, and will need to be fired after next game. A good thing some of the new skinks are quite talented. They could maybe become good additions if they survive.. :)

Season X: Ok start against last seasons champions, the Athel Loren wood elves. We lost, of course, but made a good show in the second half. And then, Jungle Warrior had to go... Clear victory over the Doomglade undeads and then a strange Draw against the high elves. No one succeeded in anything... Got a wo against the Icedragons, and then another strange game where nothing much worked for any of us until the Dogz made the score in the 7th round of second half. And thus I just missed the finals again... Made a poor showing in the ICS (like most of Bretonnia), and lost all three games.

Season XI: Team seems tired, and the coach similarly so. This will be a defining season for the future of the team... Starts well with a Draw against the Elves of Albion and then a victory against the Faraohs. Ten we dispatced the Lumberjacks with ease, due to good armour penetration... Last part of the season ended badly, though, With horrible losses to Bringers and Dogz, couldn't hit and couldn't dodge... only good thing was I didn't loose any important players... so then we are outside of the cup... again... and lost all three games in the ICS again... what's wrong with this coach...?

Season XII: The teams downwards spiral speeds up. Got crushed by the orcs (4-0 in goals, and 8 casualties against) and lost Our AG4 skink in the first match. At least we get all other players back in the next match. Walk over against the elves and a solid 3-0 victory against the unlucky Frostheim United meant we had a shot for the finals, but got crushed in an unlucky game against the Dogz... Have never won against them, and not this time either. Only good thing was that we avoided perms... Final game against the Renegades went OK. Renegades were scurrying around avoiding my blows in the first half and got lucky at the end of the half to score a second TD. We owned the second half and got players off the field, but had mostly KO's. A draw means both teams will stay in the top Conferences, but no play-offs. Next comes the inter-conference :) Won two out of three for Bretonnia, but we got screwed anyway... Guess I realised Bretonnia was the weaker division, since I used my free pass to transfer to it...

Season XIII: A revival as the round robin ended with 6p and third place... Lost a Close game to th Wasters in the first round of the play-offs though... we have never done well in the play-offs...:)
