Bogtrotters of Bol-A-Hat

Secure in their island home, with its sempiternal rain, its mists and mellow marshes, the denizens of Far Albion like nothing better than a good game of Blood Bowl. Every available piece of flat land being fen, their passing game leaves something to be desired. And they fear playing away from home, knowing that they may encounter strange and dangerous things, like sunlight. But no people can be said to love the game more.

Being the nearest thing to a national team, the Bogtrotters are coached by the national coach, the legendary Lost Erikson. Sadly for them, he is ahem lost, not having been sighted in Albion for a decade or two. Rumours abound. Optimists say he has found his fifth landing and will soon re-appear as if by magic. Pessimists say that he is lost somewhere on the far side of the world, in the appropriately named Lost Isles of Elithis. Some even say he is determined to stay there, the landscape and climate being more congenial (he hails originally from Norsca).

In Lost Erikson's absence, the team is officially "run" by Stoned Ogham, Fen Beast and player-manager. If truth be told, Ogham's understanding of the game is limited, being restricted to knowing how to recover from Stunned to Prone. But the fans love him.

In practice, the management functions of the team devolve to no-nonsense deputy assistant under-coach William of Ogham and his trusty side-kicks, the sturdy and reliable, if unimaginative Fen Guards.

The Woad Berserkers are recruited from the many common-or-garden hooligans, who seem to abound in this fair land. Known equally for their unprovoked aggression towards strangers, and their near-total incompetence in a fight, they are as likely to be found yelling incoherently over a downed foe as lying face down in the mud. Their behaviour is best explained by their addiction to the foul local brew and its crude distillate.

The diminutive Pixies love the game so much, that they inscribe their children onto the team training squad the day they are born. This is just as well, as those that make it to the final roster do not last very long. When they are not playing Blood Bowl, or making verses about their beloved weather, the Pixies spend many hours perfecting their fabled iridescent laminate armour.

The team motto is: "Entia non multiplicanda sunt praeter necessitatem". While it may surprise fans to see an Albion team with a motto in ancient Tilean, those wise in the ways of Ogham will understand.

Team sponsors range from the undrinkable ("Bogwash" = Bol-A-Hat brewers, "Marshmellow" = moonshine from North Albion) to the unusable ("Ogham's Razor" = shaving supplies).
