Victor Snagglespleen opened the huge throne room doors and slowly entered.
"Well" boomed the necomancer.
Victor paused for a moment reflecting on his miserable turn of luck ever since that fateful day a year ago.
The necromancer had arrived back at his citadel th find it a shambls, broken kegs of bugmans XXXXX scattered in every room small pieces of silky material in his bedchambers and scratchings on the wall refering to an alchemist named Morley sending something to a group in the misty mountains to fix them.
Victor was hoping the result of his subsequant invetication would appease his irate master.
His only clue had been a small tunic with rough lettering in old worlder on the front 'Carlton United inaugural premiers end of season trip'.
"They are a bloodbowl team master" Victor snivelled
"What is this Blood...bowl" glared the necromancer
Victor hurriedly told all he knew of the game and was dismissed
The following week Victor was summoned to view his masters team
"We will play this blood..bowl until i find these Carlton Uniteds and i will extract my vengeance"
Victor looked at the motley assortment of zombies,ghouls, wights, werewolves and two hulking players built from the 'spare parts' box, and did a quick count
"but, surely master doesn't intend to take the field himself you need 11 players and i only count 10?"
The necromancer smiled and leaned forward
"Oh,my dear dear Snagglespleen , but i DO have 11 players."




The necromance returns home jubilant over the triumph over the defilers Carlton United the vendetta at an end.
'Flash my new star come in and see your new home'
'Snagglepleen get out of the way you snivelling coward , make way for a real star......and give flash back his Carlton Helmet.........Whaaaaa Flash still has his helmet, give that too me Snagglspleen...'
The necromancer carefully examines the helmet , slowly turning it over to see the inscription beneath

' DAMN you Snakefield, you shall pay................snagglepleen get them back in here we are returning to again avenge our honour'





Snagglepleen hides in the darkness as he trys to overhear the two dark shapes in the distance.
"all this just to fix the draw?, seems excessive Duke"
"shhhh you idiot don't use my name, and yes all this if you let ME determine the draw for next season"
The figures then shake hands and part .
Snagglepleen crouches lower as one figure substantially chunkier than the other walks past him , a large sack chinking at his hip and a smile across his wide face.

Later back at the Necromancers lair snagglespleen scuffles into the throne room
"Boss, I know why we aren't playing Carlton this season"



After half a nights digging the shovel finally hits something solid. Scurvey looking hands lift of the wooden lid.
"He's here my Lord" snagglespleen whispers up to the dark cowled figure.
The Dark one turns and hands a pouch to another figure shrouded in shadows " thank you Duskwind this will compensate you for your time"
