The results of unlicensed necromancy in a graveyard of protagonists, Zomb's main issue is that every member believes themselves to be the hero of the piece. Inevitably, none of them are.

Special Award: Borjoyzee for 18 games before his first skillpoints
Special Award: Prince for scoring our only one-turner yet in game 21
Special Award: Max, Jack, Zoe and Borjoyzee all made it to 50 games at the same time. On my 51st game. Hmm...

Poor start, losing to Bo-Brum's depleted lizards but Zomb were unbeaten after that point. Come the final day of the season, following a bloody 2-0 victory over Cyrus' orcs, we were tied on top with 2 other teams, but that first-day loss came back to haunt us and denied a place in the Prem. Ah well.
Hero: Prince who scored a one-turner on turn 16 to win a match
Zero: The Mummies who conspired to score a single casualty between them all season

Probably the best start we've ever had, remaining undefeated against five bashy teams in succession and leading the division healthily at that point. Unfortunately, the last of those five also caused the retirement of two founder players, the Mummy April and the Wight Manny. All we needed was a draw from the last two matches to have a shot at the playoff, and, well, we lost them both. Last-ditch elven defences stopped us from securing draws in both of them and we finished an agonising point from the playoffs.
Hero: Max, who held the line admirably in April's absence with 8 cas for the season.
Zero: Sam, who dropped the ball on T8 of the final game when there was a clear path to score.

Another good start, winning our first two games comfortably, before we slide to a defeat against some orcs (I'm blaming Marcus for failing the GFI that would have secured the draw). Recovered to beat Something is Rotting handily thanks to a barrage of skulls landing on Unstoffe's head, and Timlagor's Slann thanks to the ball not going out of play. An admin win against the potentially troublesome elves set me up for a final-round top of the table clash against Ehlers' zneaky worzhippers, who we'd lost to a few seasons back. We massively, massively lost that and zneaked through to the playoffs, where we also massively lost. There's always next year.

A straightforward 2-1 grind over some humans gives way to no wins in our next five games, including two high-scoring draws (our first 3-3!). The division is very much the haves and have-nots though so I still have a chance to survive on the last day of the season, and grasp it with cold dead hands, beating KJG's necros 2-0. It's a bad season for ghouls, with Sam and Prince of the original quartet injured off. I'm left with a niggled Artemis to remind me of the good times.
Hero: Jack managed eight casualties in one game. Ridiculous.
Zero: Marcus is still to do anything of use after 16 games. STEP UP, SON.

Hella close division but I'm a win off challenging for promotion and so have to settle (again) for mid-table mediocrity. Absolutely slaughtered by lizards and slann but make up for it by not losing to elves. Okay yes we drew when we could have won, but it's a start. Artemis, Max and Jack are forming some kind of high-stakes triumvarate as they're around about a century of skillpoints. I should really try to skill up other people occasionally.
Hero: Poor Garrett the agile ghoul, smashed down by the lizards in a valiant attempt to free the ball
Zero: Marcus is still to do anything of use after 23 games. I could just copy and paste this, I think. It's going to be a while.

The glory year! After securing a draw with some rough tough orcs, we embark on an smashing spree the like of which has never before been seen. Our old Khemri friends, El Dia De Los Muertos are pushed aside again, and then delves, helves and zons are all dealt grinding 2-1 defeats. Underdog skaven secure a draw and we absolutely tank the final game, going down 2-0 to White Isle Retail, getting several MNGs in the process, but it's (just) enough to win the division. Zomb are going to the Premiership! Life is wonderful!

Life is pain. The big three, Artemis, Jack and Max all die in the space of two games against Pete's Norse and Mateus' Chaos, with superstrong zombie Shepherd joining them for good luck. 400 skillpoints lighter, a new team must emerge from the smouldering wreckage. Our next two games see Zomb get themselves into at least drawing situations, only to throw it away. Still, couple of 2-1 defeats, I'm getting close to that goal of not losing a game in the Prem. Finally in game 7, we achieve it, a mighty draw against our old pals Something is Rotten. And then again next game, with a length of the field zombie play. But we never do get that maiden prem victory and are relegated with a pretty awful record, shorn of every good player we had. Rebuild!

A rare default loss is a poor way to start the season but we're back on track, unbeaten in the next three, a GFI away from winning the first. There's a few punchy teams around and I survive the first test, a 1-1 draw against a couple of obscene wolves. Another win and we're hoping for playoffs but despite inflicting a monstrous level of hurt on the Har Ganeth Headrippers, we lose 2-1. Ah well, always next year...
