The Iron Dwarves hail from the small mining community of Irongar. One day many of the dwarves were caught in an explosion that lead to them being stuck underground for several days. They survived by rationing their food, no easy task for a dwarf, and eventually they even tried to eat the metal they had been working from the mine. A strange thing happened then - their eyes turned a glowing blue and they felt marginally stronger.

With their new strength they managed to escape the mine, however their clan cast them out, scared by the blue eyes and glowing rune signs that now also adorned the dwarves' arms.

The Iron Dwarves then set up their own mining company, and promised vengeance on those that had disowned them. Currently, they play Blood Bowl to acquire the funds for their expensive venture.
