Tor Anroc Anglers
Slow, but steady the anglerfish catches its prey. For centuries the marines of the sunken city Tor Anroc have defended the coast of Ulthuan from druchi raiders, bipedal sharks, nautical monsters and pirates alive and undead. Now, in these much more civil times, these warriors of Mathlann bring their skills to the BloodBowl arenas all over the world. Clad in heavy Ithilmar armour the Anglers trade speed for durability, but they maintain the agility elves are known and feared for. Finubar the Seafarer himself sent the team to compete in the CabalVision Inter-regional BloodBowl League, not knowing what sinister powers he would unleash. If Mathlann wills it the Anglers will achieve great deeds and bring glory to the sunken city. Slow, but steady.

Seasons
2601:

The Anglers joined the league in the Spring/Summer of the 2601 CIBBL season. The team stayed unbeaten in all of its regional games and was already crowned as the winners of the league, but the last minute introduction of the nautican team Blackmud Tridents shook up the rankings.

Pundits rumour of a fraudulent plot to impede the Anglers dominance, as the Nauticans imploded against the Doom, who would later win the season, while showing competent performances against their other opponents. The Anglers finish their first regional season second placed, but are the moral victors of the Great Ocean region.

After the team sat out the big summer tournaments the Bronze Division in Autumn started promising with wins over the Coven and the abominations of the Seven Samples of Decay. Two untimely and crucial losses against the Flying Drop Bears and the Forsaken of the Pantheon, caused by bad play calling and underperforming stars alike, meant an early end to the Anglers' title dreams. A win against the regional rivals Norscan Curse and a draw against the Kislevites from Bolgasgrad (who employed a frost mage to overcome the Anglers otherwise impenetrable defense) nevertheless secured a third place and the bronze medal.

2602:

After a win in the teams only winter friendly against the Montetriste Noblemen the Anglers vowed to dominate their region. They won all three games, two of them against their most hated rivals of the Norscan Curse and thus qualified for the Cabalvision Invitational, the highest rated summer tournament. For winning the regionals the Deep One bestowed them magical Ithilmar Armour, crafted by the best smiths of Tor Anroc and infused with weird magic from the depths below the sunken city.

Summer has been a good season for the Anglers as they took the second place in the Cabalvision Invitational, the top tournament with the regional winners from Spring. Only a highly unlikely block from a True Roots of Khaine Sprite and a (twice) failed GFI against the Tower of Necromancer prevented a possible win, but the future looks bright for the Deep One and his followers. With the same amount of points, but a few touchdowns less the Anglers only barely missed out on the big price.

Autumn meant Gold. And Gold meant mistery. Not only have wizards decided to go against the Deep Ones wishes, the Anglers' armour was broken countless times, injuries and death followed. Mathlann exiled coach Neubau to the Southlands for a time, to make atonement for his failures. He came back with new insights, tactics and a vial of poison. For encouragement? As a threat? Who knows. The 2603 Season will be a rebuilding season for the Anglers, hopefully the Deep One will shine his darkness on them again.

2603:

After a good winter performance the Anglers started the Spring Regionals as the big favorite, though the games were far harder than in the previous years. Especially the Norscan Curse made the Anglers and Falandar fight for the win until the last turn. Nevertheless all three games and multiple awards were won, but could 2603 be the beginning of the end of the Anglers' dominance in the Great Ocean?

Summer put the Anglers in the Styles Clash Tournament, where they faced fast and agile teams in their group and the winner of the bash group for their last and deciding game. The Anglers' slow, but relentless onslaught was too much for their faster kin and the Eshin rats they faced, only the tzeentchian Coven managed to force a draw. With the best record in the agile group they drew the northern nipponese Cult of Shiamoto. Firithas almost gave the game away after he failed a block and opened up a huge gap in the Anglers' offense, but a good effort by the team to recover the ball lead to a 1-0 lead at half time. The second half showcased the proven Angler defense that wouldn't buldge to the attacks of Shiamoto's Samurai, and with the help of the Deep One's magic they stole the ball and scored for the 2-0 win. The Styles Clash was the Anglers first tournament win outside of their region, now they thirst for Gold.

The Anglers started the Autumn tournament furiously with two wins, but a tragic loss in an unacceptable manner against the later winners of the Gold tournament, the Montetriste Noblemen, all but shattered the dreams of winning the big prize. A win, a lacklustre draw against the Dragon Hawks and two losses later the Anglers finished in fourth place. The agile but fragile blocker Saeldovel was sacrificed to the Deep One for missing too much time on the pitch, but coach Neubau can't help but feel content about the year 2603. At the seasons' end the Anglers retain their spot as the second most prestigious team of CIBBL.
