There are some awesome teams out there who have gotten to a higher level in terms of recognition. What do you consider consitutes a classic team (Ranked/Blackbox/Leagues)?

Longevity? Championship titles? Dominance during a period? Uniqueness? Forum/Blog mentions? Fun-to-play-against factor? An amazing team bio? Anything else?

The coach must never complain about the dice and be a supporter.

To make whether or not a team is a classic depend on results in for instance majors would exclude all but a handful of coaches and too many races.

For me personally it's about longevity. Staying around for ages and going through all the assorted rebuilds that come with playing this game. If the team in question happens to be something like a goblin team in the [B]ox that would be a major bonus in terms of kudos.

Longevity alongside a history of balanced/challenging matches, and not just a tanked record (this is relative, I do not expect anyone to be winning 60% of their games with a lineup like the Schmerztal Darkbones).

Themes, uniqueness, fluff etc are all a bonus, but many people don't care about any of that. Winning (multiple majors) obviously elevates your team to the forefront of many people's minds, but again, many people don't care about that.

People will also always remember the teams who have managed to get a bunch of freaks (by whatever means) then keep them alive for a while (eg. Extraordinary Brotherhood, Stonetroll's Nurgle, Malmir's Fleetfoot's Revenge, currently Baza's stinking leezards) - obviously these teams also usually end up quite successful too (and note all of these teams are 200+ game teams).

I've mentioned ranked teams first, because for Box teams, longevity is really just the deal, but also being a really long lived lower tier (or even just non-killer) team is more impressive. Keeping a freak team going in the box will also get them (in)famous rather quickly. Think New Vamps on the Blood.

the answer to your question Frylen is "yes".

There are thousands of active teams on fumbbl. Do something, anything, that sets your team patently a part from the sea of sameness, and you'll get recognition.
