Thanks all for the discussion.

There is already a lot of changes in BB2020 and Blood Bowl is a gentleman's hobby: in tournament or in my local league, I do not want to argue for hours about a badly written rule. I guess I will play as if Sure Pair of Hands does not counter Strip Ball (except if my opponent agrees with me), but I am pretty confident that the next FAQ will rule that SPoH counters Strip Ball.

We have our answer in may FAQ ( https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/3S3PZe9L4TKG5hCE.pdf ) :

Q: If a player with the Safe Pair of Hands skill is targeted by
a Block action performed by a player with the Strip Ball skill,
and they suffer a Push Back result, can they still use Safe Pair
of Hands? (p.75)
A: No

Come on guys this is pretty clearly worded, right? Safe pair if hands is a skill that triggers if the player is knocked down. Strip Ball doesn’t knock you down. Period.

This was already clearly worded in my opinion too but there were still coachs who disagreed (on this thread but also on other forums, on Facebook, etc...) so I'm glad they add an answer on that question in their FAQ.

Now, we'll all play with the same rules on that point.

I think that if "Safe Pair of Hands" works against a "Strip Ball" then you also should make an armour roll as you always make an armour roll when the player is "Knocked Down"... Wink

"Safe Pair of Hands" require the player to be knocked down to work. If that does not happen then the skill don't activate.

No it requires the player to be knocked down and holding the ball and therefore the ball bounces. But we've already established that being knocked down doesn't cause the ball to bounce anyway.

Strip ball causes the ball to bounce as if the player was knocked down; this therefore triggers Safe Pair of Hands.

If I put on a Yoda outfit, am I a Jedi? No.
If the ball bounces as if I'm knocked down, am I knocked down. No.

Does Safe Pair of Hands only work on a knock down. Yes.

Does Strip ball work on a knock down. No.

Therefore, if strip ball works on a push, will Safe Pair of Hands work on Strip Ball. No.

Can't be any more clearer than that. If you still disagree, then let's agree to disagree. Later mater!

Well, I hate to say 'I told you so', but.........
