At the end...before passing

This seems to indicate that the bite is taking place sequentially inside the resolution of the action.

Just to explain the quoted clarifications page - the NAF doesn’t make or clarify rules. We simply host a page where we post clarifications made by the best sources of the day. It would seem at the time of this clarification, that source was Galak.

Of late, GW (a source that supersedes Galak) have been answering questions re: rules clarifications, and sometimes they change the ‘known’ rules mechanics (in that we have been playing a rule a certain way for years and now it is different). For example, GFI is now before dodge if you have to do both together, whereas the rules as written and the enduring convention say you dodge first. That new understanding is less than a couple of years old. So, we stay abreast of developments, and if you manage to get a new clarification out of GW on this or any other topic, we will revise that page accordingly.

@Mingoose, I read it completely backwards

in a sequence of events:

Activate vamp - fail blood lust - move/punch/blitz - feed on player - maybe pass/hand off if that was chosen - end action.
but tents says "his action ends immediately", so you dont feed before and vamp leaves thirsty and feeds elsewhere.

I agree that being able to feed on thrall would make sense, but at the same time i read it and jump to the conclusion that vamp leaves

It makes sense that if a Vamp is struggling to get away from a player but is trapped by the tentacles, it cannot then bite a target as if it was not restrained. It is using all its efforts to escape, and failing..

this is interesting:

Let's say you a Vampire that for some very wierd reason you wanted to leave Prone on the pitch ... you can still Gaze adjacent opponents while Prone (same way that Distrubing Presence works while Prone).

but I reckon it might not be allowed in the client Razz

Yes and not. You can pass or block when adjacent to Tentacles (as long as you don't try a Dodge or Leap, so Tentacles skill is not triggered), therefore this suggests you are not totally restrained (otherwise a Tentacles test would be necessary to attempt any Action, not just Move Action), only Leap and Dodge can be restrained (i.e. Actions that imply a certain distance travelled, unlike biting, which is not even an Action).
Also, we well know that rules and realism don't necessarily match in BB (interception before pass, for example).
It could be argued that an adjacent Thrall is still close enough to be bitten or that failing Tentacles means not be able to move away with Dodge or Leap, but not be totally restrained.
If Tentacles totally restrained a player, then he would have to test for any kind of Action attempted, but he doesn't have to.
