Sherwood Forest On March

Sherwood literally means "Shire Wood."
And in the Middle Ages, Sherwood did
cover much of Nottinghamshire and was
over twenty miles long. Some of the trees
in Sherwood include oaks like the Major
Oak and silver birch trees. One peculiar
kind of oak is the "stag-headed" or
"blasted" oak. These oak trees have been
ravaged by a fungus disease, but legend
has it they were struck by lightning.

Sherwood is patrolled by wood elves who
metes out swift justice to those who break
the forest laws by such acts as killing the
Robin Hood's deer. Venison, deer meat, is
among Robin's favourite foods. Now illegal
the deer hunting has gone over board and
Robin has decided to exact vengeance on
the pitch against all evil creatures who are
behind this.
