Game 1- vs Orcs,
0-1 heartbreaker loss. But the learning curve is steep...


Game 2- vs Ogres-
1-1 tie, as the ogres passed over our heads and caught the Darks with their pants down (figuratively)

Game 3, vs Orcs -
A win! The learning curve pays off, hopefully permanantly.

On a darker note, #7 John Darkboote, with 2 SPP, was killed, by accident, fair and square, in a match that saw several players badly hurt. John, I'd say we'll miss you, but we all know better...
(And on a related note, a team doctor was hired.)

Game 4, vs Ogres (Blarq), 2-0 win.
A brutal game, with 4 BH's and 2 niggles: Two players suffered broken legs, favored Dodger John Darkhoney. Fingers are being pointed at the coaching staff, who panicked early and healed their #1 player of only a BH result. Two bottles of the medicinal brandy are missing, and rumours are flying.

Despite a 70k gate and so the cash to purchase a backup for the two niggled players, league limits on Linemen prohibit this, and so the team will have to do with 10 and 2-half players for now, and hope for the best...


Game 5, vs Ogres (Russo1)
0-3 loss
Continuing the string of reverse cherry picking <ahem>, BLS took some brutal punishment but learned some valuable lessons. Two more killed outright, inc. John Darkbootey, suggesting that the #7 spot (or that name) may well be cursed. Struggling to maintain a (potential) 11 man lineup, BLS hired replacement lineman John Darkbootei, as much curious about the curse as sticking to tradition.

Game 6 vs Lizardmen
1-1


Game 7, vs High Elves (Wolfskin)
Conceded at halftime, 2-2 score.
This opposing coach set a great tone of communication and teaching, and proved from the start that his position was appropriate to that task. However, an urgent call cut the game short at half time, at a 2-2 tie (only due to bad luck at critical moments for Wolf'), and the 'Shadow had to concede. Most probably would have led to a loss, against such a well coached team, but the loss of gate (& MVP )was still a hard pill to swallow. Respect to Wolfskin, and his team!


Game 8, vs Chaos Dwarves (rnunnerley)
2-1 win
Lesson learned- opposing Minotaurs are no fun. And Centaurs run right past you. The first half was a complete schmozzle, with a wild melee for a loose ball just after the kickoff. BLS ended up with it near the end of the half, ran to one side, then threw the ball back to an empty field dominated by Dark Elves for the pickup and score.

The second half saw a similar but more traditional change of field, with a quick pass and then run for the second score. Beyond Thunderdome came back with a sideline run that looked stopped, but the lone breakaway centaur stood up after the tackle, blitzed the ball carrier, and picked up the ensuing fumble in the endzone for a great singlehanded score. BT also had recovered the ball and moving well at the end of the game- had it gone 1 more turn, who knows?

As a footnote, yet another player was pronounced dead on the field, but thanks to a quick-acting apothecary will be able to play in the next game- good work, Doc!


Game 9, vs more Chaos Dwarves

1-2 loss
Well, another game filled with mental errours and gross incompetance on the part of the coaching staff, who's only excuse was that it was early in the morning and "the coffee hadn't kicked in yet." Their one TD was textbook, and that was satisfying, but trying to break the CD cage was a bit more than they could handle.. Still, the BLS almost pulled out a last second tie, only needing one dodge with their Ag 5 star player- but he tripped on a shoelace, and that was the ballgame.

Tho' Fan Factor did not drop, the gate was a paltry 50k, so no news on that front.


GAME 10
vs Vamps
(Felcher and Sons, Coach A_J_Stevens)
0-1 loss
BB Birthday day- random mutations for all, and no injuries count- and a good thing! Leaping vamps are hard to stop.

Unfortunately, a clerical errour retired John Darkwiner, a Blocking Lineman with a niggling injury. JD was not long for the team, but he was not due for release for some games. Seeya, John.


GAME 11
vs Rats
(Durty Ratz, Coach thereisaball)
loss, 2-4
I could point to 5 mental errours that led to a loss rather than a tie, if not a win. First, a needless Dodge thru TZ that cost an early (and needless) RR. Failure to Blitz the flank rather than Block, which would have put pressure on an unlucky ball handler (intended to, then forgot when the time came). A Defensive set up on the LOS that led to a turnover. And not moving players before rolling dice. Again and again, but once or twice glaringly. Completely my fault - just rubbing it in, so ~hopefully~ I'll start to remember!

And then also a double-1 on a Dodge for a score, last turn of 2nd half, that led to a 1 turn Skaven score instead. Out of my control, even a RR wouldn't have been of any use, but still, that one hurt.

3 players out, plus more KO'd. Only KO'd 1 or 2 rats the whole time. Gotta hire a Blocking coach.

Note to Self: <b> Rewatch</b> this game, and DON'T do that shit again!

But well played on Coach t's part! (Man, them rats's was everywheres!)

Only 30k gate, FF dropped to 8. Dodge on Thrower, Leap on +Ag Lino.

Game 15
Loss, 1-5
vs Rats, coach Mantanza
Nothing went right, starting with a MNG and another Niggled player that gave me no replacements and an additional handicap that kept my Sure Hands player not so sure. Coach's record is 7-0-0 with those guys- I want a rematch to see if he was good, or the 3 BH in the first 4 turns was what gave me the loss.
