The team that has come to be known as the "Hobgoblin Day Out" by fans, and officially known as "Slave Improvement Training Program 001286#5" were assembled by the Chaos Dwarf Inhuman Resources Research & Torture Devision as an attempt to create a better Hobgoblin player for Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl teams. The best available hobgoblin players were to be herded into a team, the better players (well, the surviving players) from which would be cloned and sold for large wads of cash.

Of course, critics of the program pointed out that there are mouldy vegetables with more playing abilities than hobgoblins, and that you might as well not bother. Early signs were not good. In the trials only one player proved able to pick up the ball in less than five attempts, only to then be accidentally thrown out of the stadium by a passing troll, who tried to join in.

The team were saved from premature liquidation, however, when they proved popular
with BB fans, who like nothing better than seeing a bunch of inept morons being beaten into a pulp on the field. They have been bolstered by the signing of the enthusiastic troll, who pundits predict will be an asset to the team, as long as he stops eating all of the players at half time.

And then, something strange happened. They started to win..
