OLD WORLD BRAWL 14 RUNNER-UP

18/06/2016: A shady and extremely wealthy Miragliano businessman, known only as "The Knight", purchases a modest but storied Blood Bowl team from his city, the Diavoli Rossi. The announcement is shortly followed by the arrive on roster of promising elf blitzer Isekson and the popular minor-league ogre Maximus Ambrosia.
27/06/2016: Other new arrivals: from a disbanded Norse team, Diavoli Rossi acquires a berserker, Andreas "the Terror of Kislev", and a Yheetee, which is named Ivano Gennario Felide by the President himself.
30/06/2016: The halfling Filippo, from Placentia, is added to the roster. The Knight's spokeperson states that the team is set to debut not in Tilea's local championship but on the Old World scene.
03/07/2016: AutoAxpert is revealed as the team's coach and general manager. The surprising announcement of a rookie coach is welcomed with scepticism by the media. Ambrosia is named team captain.
18/07/2016: After three straight losses to begin the season, with two players dead and two of the mercenary stars injured, the days of AutoAxpert at the helm of the team seem to be numbered. The lone bright spot is Felide's bloody performances, with the Yheetee registering roughly one casualty per game.
24/07/2016: Solid performances by the Diavoli bring a 2/2/3 record. Isekson emerges as the main star in the roster, with the help of physical play by Ambrosia, Felide and the Sylvanian lineman Juraj.
29/07/2016: The team goes on summer vacation, with a record of 4/2/3. The highlight comes in the match against the Blood Dragons Drinking Problem, where the opposing teams concedes and the Elf is awarded two MVP awards after scoring the touchdown.
05/09/2016: The demonic team Slaaneshettes defeats the Diavoli, ending a 7 games long undefeated streak.
12/10/2016: The Knight announces the DRM will compete in Old World Brawl 14. The news are met with a certain apprehension by coach AutoAxpert, whose only previous experience with knock-out tournaments is in the 145 League. The team goes on a secluded training camp to get their game sharpened.
15/10/2016: The team's 10th victory come in the first round of the tournament, where they face the Khornate band "Neomoloch and Friends". The game is also the first one to be resolved in overtime. Once again, exceptional plays by Isekson and Ivan G. Felide are the main reasons for the win, but the whole team is to be praised, since they actually win the casualty war against such a formidable opponent.
25/10/2016: The team wins against the Erengrad Cannons, getting on the board early thanks to a blitz. The kislevite team fights bravely but is only able to prevent Isekson from scoring again. The brave High Elf also survives a lightning strike unscathed. The play of the game, however, is from Maximus Ambrosia, whose interception prevented a clear scoring chance by the Cannons. Diavoli Rossi advance to the finals of OWB 14.
27/10/2016: The final is a disaster for the team. The players seem rattled and aren't unable to bring down the opposition, while most of the players get badly beaten up. After finding a breakthrough, Isekson is hit by a lightning which badly burns his leg. The game ends 2-0. In the end, one of the longest serving linemen, Pancario de Pancarii, is left dead on the field. The Knight is most displeased.
