Ahhh... The Deserted Isles. A rugged, mountainous land where every man and his dog love Blood Bowl. A pair of Islands so steeped in the traditions of the running game that teams are feared for just hailing from those sacred shores. Here, amongst the scattered sheep farms and isolated communities, a man can be a man. He can drink, smoke, and gamble with impunity. He can run, fight and wrestle with his neighbours on the Blood Bowl pitch every weekend before returning to his farm to similarly wrestle a living from the broken land. Bitter rivalries on the field turn to close friendships in the clubs rooms after the game. Two men who were the fiercest of enemies on opposing teams will put aside their differences whether the victor or the defeated. There are no shortage of trophies in the Deserted Isle. Every town, club and position have a plethora of awards to be won. But what the Deserted Isles lack is something most men will not do without. Women. There are fuck all of them. Well. Fuck all of them that don't look like a battered Ogre that's passed a hundred games for the Reikland Reavers. And so when Farmer Brown noticed that the rats on his farm bred quicker than the sheep, there was no feminine influence to prevent him from implementing a plan so ill begotten, so terrible, that even now it is only spoken of in hushed voices. Farmer Brown decided to breed rats. Or rather. Breed with rats. For meat. Needless to say, whatever malicious magicks Farmer Brown discovered, whichever daemonic deals he had made were lost to time with the visitation of a mob of pitchfork wielding peasants. The unspeakable things these hardworking farmers found will haunt them the rest of their lives, but still in the face of such overwhelming evil, these simple men found the courage to destroy Farmer Brown and his farm. Burning the homestead, they flushed Farmer Brown from his house of horror and murdered him on the spot, right there in his fields surrounded by his ravished sheep and burning crops. Salting the earth behind them these heroic farmers returned to their homes forever burdened with the knowledge Farmer Brown had gleaned from the Abyss. But true evil never dies and from the ruins of the Brown Homestead dark figures emerged. Tortured beings, more than rats but less than man. Without the skills to resurrect the farm and with visages too terrible to tame the surviving, ravished sheep, these Ratmen turned to the only pursuit available to ones of such horrific appearance. Blood Bowl. And so were born the Deserted Isle Destroyers, their ranks filled with the cursed bastard sons of Farmer Brown and his rat harem.
