TEAM BIO

Nurgle's Rotters (2402 - present)

2402 - 2467: Humble and Gross Beginnings
In 2402, an outbreak of Nurgle's Rot becomes an omen for the start of the Nurgle's Rotters which will be built from the survivors, who serve their new owner, Nurgle. Soon after, the NAF quickly enforces a strict quarantine of the team during, before, and after each match. The Rotters' successes quickly become apparent to other teams when players of the opposition contract Nurgle's Rot and try out for the diseased team.

2468 - 2487: Ups, Pus, and Downs
Blood Bowl Championship VIII in 2468, would see the Rotters victorious against the more favored Naggaroth Nightwings. During an investigation, it was found that the Nightwings' lodging was an old Nurgle temple. Several players were infected with Nurgle's Rot, so only six Nightwings players were able to take the field.

Nurgle's Rotters would again take the field in Blood Bowl Championship XX in 2480, against the Elfheim Eagles. Amid another controversy, this time not in the Rotters' favor, the Eagles would when despite alleged use of high magic.

2488 - Present: Collapse and Plagues of Problems
After the collapse of the NAF, the Rotters fare very poorly in keeping their numbers up for a strong roster. At the end of 2488, the Rotters agreed to play the Arctic Cragspiders, but would be lost in transit due to the choppy waters of the Sea of Claws and hazardous ice floes.

A year or so later, one of the frozen bodies of the 2488 team is picked up by a fishing vessel and taken aboard. After defrosting, the crew is infested with Nurgle's Rot, including turning the ship's cat, Tiddles, into a Rotspawn. Rebuilding of the diseased team is still underway

*** Did you know...

That Hanse Kohl holds the record for most players sent off in a match with a maximum of 32 players! It happened in a grudge match between the Gouged Eye and Dwarf Warhammerers in 2474 (Trivia Fans remember these two faced each other in Blood Bowl XIII in 2473). This record is made all the more remarkable considering the two teams history of 'removing' referees that interfere with the game plan of said teams.

And the reason the ref got away with sending all the players off? The day before he had been refereeing a Nurgles Rotters vs. Decaying Disorder in the Putrid Stump Trophy quarter finals and had contracted Nurgles Rot.

Sadly Hanse never managed to referee another match afterwards as his arms fell off (then his legs, heads, tentacles....) though he will be known for his famous post match interview when he managed to infect fourteen news reporters and one cabalvision cameraman.

2520 SEASON

GAME 1 VS Ogres
An absolute capitulation that left the new head coach weeping in the dugouts. Taking on the Ogretones, a rookie Ogre team with only four of the big boys and a short roster of seven snots, the team went at it with a hiss and a roar.... and altogether too much enthusiasm. Before the first drive was even over there were two Rotters in the bin for fouling, and another two out for the game, one seriously injured, one dead. And thats before it went REALLY wrong.
0-3 LOSS
