Hi guys,
I'm just a little confused about the different methods for running a tournament - knockout I get, but what about Rund Robin, etc? Could someone explain briefly for me?

round robin, everyone plays each other once in a fixed shedule
open round ropin, everyone plays everyone once but no limit on how many games you play, or in what order
swiss, a wierd one, not used it myself, but it varies your next opponent depending on the previous result you had i think |

There are two types of Round Robin: open and closed.
Closed is what you will be familiar with from football (and other) leagues: each team plays each other team (once, on FUMBBL) in a fixed order. Teams gain points based on however you set the points up (W/D/L, TDs, CAS, etc).
Open still has each team playing each other team - but in any order. Again, points are gained however you set it up.
I know roughly how Swiss works … but I'm not a Swiss expert. So I'll let someone else explain it. |
