Step 1 - Apply at XX15 hours.
Step 2 - Bot selects the eight most evenly matched teams, and invites them to the group.
Step 3 - Apply to group with team.
Step 4 - SMACK away.
Surely this is some advanced Bot programming, but certainly possible. I think once [B] gets out of testing stages it's a very sexy possibility.
Thoughts? |

How would a blackbox and a ranked smack be different? |

one would be filled with R teams, the other with B teams. |

I don't really see this as a good thing, not as long as there are few B teams.
Those who have little time playing two games in a row will certainly have less opponents. And those who have a lot of time for smacks will always choose the smack option over the regular B game.
EVERY B game would be a smack-like match... why add smacks to B? |

I very much agree with this, I don't think SMACKS in [B] is a good thing. In [R] SMACKS make sense because you take out a group of people who want to play a few competitive games against whoever might come their way (and they get a price if they win) from an environment where this type of game might not get played otherwise. This makes SMACKS special in [R], but in [B] this is the way the whole division works so it wouldn't make sense.
I've said this in another thread, and I still think it's a better idea:
Gran wrote: | Just off the top of my head: Why not moving the Championship to [B]? I haven't heard much talking about the Championship ever, as far as I can recall. It's not noted in your profile, no prizes are given and as far as I know it leads a rather anonymous existence in [R] with SMACKS and large tournaments being the focus of much of the attention. Another plus is the fact that the Championship doesn't rely on a specific team or race and as such would fit perfectly with the randomness of [B]. |
If we had a more official Championship in [B] people would get prices for competitive play, but without having to take away the randomness of opponent selection. |

How to quick-win a SMACK:
a) Save heaps of cash.
b) Have a deep bench with a few MNG.
c) Enter SMACK.
You will get evenly matched for the first game. Win this and second game you have your MNG back and can hire stars, so you should be so much stronger, so game 2 and the final should be a cakewalk. |

hehe...I dont see things that bad...Its possible in Smacks too to enter with frontloaded teams...but it doesnt happen all the time as many coaches just want to play.... |

If BR is included in the Matching formula for [B] then the 8 players for the smack will never be even anyway.
i suspect, after the initial fun of [B], coaches will get bored with teh BR aspect and go back to playing normal Smacks in [R] where they will ironically, get more even games. |

Yeah the blackbox would have been a nice feature to add to [R] instead of a new div. Although, seeing as this is Alpha testing it probably needs its own division at the moment. I hope it will just get folded back into [R] once all the kinks have been worked out of the system. |
