League Announcement
The following announcement is ‘early’ as it directly affects the drafting process. While it technically is being introduced for Season LXII, the notification is coming before the season begins to allow people to make an informed decision about their drafting choices.
Dear SWL Coaches,
Please note the following rules changes:
RSP Balance –
Classifying the various rosters into a Rock-Scissor-Paper (RSP) format has long been a SWL staple. The classification system was removed at the CRP changeover to allow for greater flexibility and choice for coaches. As SWL Admin are always monitoring the balance of the league, it has come to our attention that the balance of the league has of late leaned rather heavily to the bash or Rock end of the spectrum.
As such, the RSP league balancing system ™ will be reintroduced in the following manner:
RSP Classification –
ROCK: Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Khemri, Nurgle, Orc.
SCISSORS: Amazon, Chaos Pact, Human, Lizardmen, Necromantic, Norse, Undead.
PAPER: Dark Elf, Elf, High Elf, Skaven, Slann, Wood Elf.
Dynamite teams are those remaining, namely: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Underworld and Vampire.
RSP Balance –
At the time of the Draft, teams will be allocated according to:
1. Racial Caps (see The Guide)
2. RSP balance (with a ratio of 1:1:1 as the intended result – this is based on coach numbers, so with current numbers (48), a balance of 16/16/16 is desired.)
RSP balance will be in accordance with the above classifications. Currently the league is at RSP 19/14/13; in order to achieve parity, drafting teams will be allocated in preference of Paper/Scissor/Rock.
This clearly means that some coaches may NOT get their first, or even fifth preference at this time. With average drafting/parking/dropping numbers, we expect the balance to shift closer to the desired outcome within a couple of seasons.
As always, the Admin team will be monitoring this change, making adjustments if and when necessary. |

1 Zon, 2 Chaos, 3 Chorf, 2 Pact, 2 Delf, 3 Dorf, 2 Pelf, 2 Gobs, 0 Fling, 4 Helf, 2 Human, 1 Khemri, 3 Lizard, 2 Necro, 4 Norse, 4 Nurg, 2 Ogre, 4 Orc, 2 Skaven, 1 Slann, 2 Undead, 0 Underworld, 0 Vamp, 2 Woodies.
So 17 Rock, 16 Scissor, 12 Paper, 4 Dynamite. AG 4 be welcome, ST 4 not so much. |

Just wanted to say i think that's a really good modification to the ruleset. Someone was just saying the other day about elves and skaven not living for very long in SWL atm. I think this will alleviate the pain. |
